Fair warning: Your rear bumper is an expensive, and delicate P.O.S.

To tacopromatt: Great rear bumper look! Nice work! Something to think about for my taco. Glad they caught the nut in Austin, too.

 

I have it in my head that I want to keep the OEM tow hitch to trailer heavier loads. But that said, I think in the future the only things I’d be looking at are an off-road capable camping trailer with an RTT on top of the trailer, or an occasional utility trailering for firewood and stuff like that. So that said, what’s the tongue weight limit and overall trailer weight limit on these? Generally are the attachment points as good or better than the OEM hitch? Maybe simpler to ask what class hitch are we looking at with these built in bumper hitches?

 

Okay, sorry you answered some of my questions about towing in your post. I’ll. Look at some install videos and check out the install points and bolting.

 

If you look at fab fours website under the installation instructions the tell you how to remove the stock bumper. Pretty simple job.

I’ll start parking on the end, maybe someone will clip my stock bumper and put it out of its misery.

 

It would decrease departure angle. I have a c4 and it has a hidden hitch wouldn't have bought it if it didn't.

 

Just hope they leave a note or you also need a good dash cam (front and rear) with parking mode.

 

If that was the ATL parking lot it would get torn off.

Recovery strap connected from the hitch receiver to a tree and drive off. Works great.
