Well, driving my 06, really liking this little truck. Question I have is, on this site, there are many enthusiasts from what I can tell. But I haven't seen anything in regard to a "wave" like bikes, Miata's, Corvettes, Jeeps do. Not that I miss that too much as I can just jump into the Jeep to take part in that.

At least that's what I've found until today. These trucks are extremely popular and I see them all over so one would be constantly be waving and certainly most people on the road aren't enthusiasts. Its just a work vehicle to them.

So color me surprised when a guy in a black, newer Tacoma gives me a wave! Way to surprised to even return...all I could do was smile!

So bottom line, is there a "wave" or acknowledgement or not? Kinda like the Jeep Wrangler crew, not that all of them do it either.

I’d say yes. There is a wave but the problem is that there are many people who drive our trucks that I wouldn’t consider enthusiasts or involved in the Tacoma community, there for they may not wave back. So for me I’ll wave at a Tacoma that appears to be built up a bit like my own like an enthusiast would.

I came from Jeeps so I wave if waved to and I wave at modified trucks. I don't really bother with the stockers, most of them look at you funny. I see a lot of return waves and smiles or nods.

Let's make this a thing though!

    Stock for. Ow
My rule of thumb is it’s modified i’ll wave. If it’s bone stock wait for the other person to wave 1st lol

We really need to make waving a mandatory thing.

    Hah! Thanks for the wave!

It makes sense to look at the modified ones. That shows someone into their vehicle. And yes, As stated, there are certainly a large number of regular stock vehicles around here.
