Fake rigid pro fog lights. I think.

Fake right? The Rigid logo isn't right. Looks like it's grey on grey.

 

How much did you pay? That will generally tell you it’s fake or not. If it was a ton cheaper I would have to agree.

Those look pretty legit to me, the plastics should have a xxxxx-xxxxx part number molded on them possibly prefixed by "PTR".

 

yah new profiles always are a hesitant. If it’s TW they need 50 posts to sell.

Well, yeah that's definitely a bad sign. Generally speaking I don't buy from anyone with less than 250 posts or so and even still always use PayPal goods and Services. Never use Friends and Family when buying from a stranger.

 

They do look funny.

 

The Rigid on mine looks a little different than those. I got mine here from another member for $350, which is what most of them were going for on here when I got mine.

 

Those are fakes from alibaba. I know this because I purchased a set about a year ago and then ditched them. There was a big thread that got shut down. You are correct that the gray on gray is the main distinguishing feature.

I think I've bought some patches from you in the past also.

 

The grey on grey is weird to me. It doesn’t look right. My dad has the TRD Pro and i believe his is grey lettering on black. It could just be a glare in the pic maybe.

 

I thought that was a possibility. But the logo doesn't look right in either picture plus any other legit set I've been able to find a picture of has a clear logo. Shitty angle or not.

 

I'm almost positive they are these. I saw many complaints of the text color being off.

The Alibaba knock offs are well documented fakes, in no way related to the real product. Yet people keep falling for the crap quality China knock off garbage. Unfortunately it has become extremely popular for people to now buy them in bulk and sell them second hand as a legitimate Rigid product to turn a quick buck screwing our Tacoma family members over. And you thought the original counterfeiters were bad.

If you compare my OEM Rigid pics to the posted ones, you'll note the posted pics lack the red power wire, and instead seem to have a red/black power wire, which is not what the stock lights use. The white protective sleeve also seems slightly different. One of the other give aways is that the RigidIndustries in the bezel is attached with double sided sticky tape vs molded in the OEM units. And in the provided photos, it definitely appears as if the 'Rigid Industries' label is all one piece that is attached after the fact rather than molded into the bezel.

My bet is they are IP scum trying to turn a quick bet off unsuspecting buyers.
