When I was shopping for mine, there was definitely a used vehicle dealership with a misleading listing claiming to be a TRD off road when it was clearly not from the instruments on it.

Thanks. I knew that but didn't word it right. Those are real stickers or replicas made to look like the originals. I updated my post.

I wish I'd screenshot it or something, but back when I was shopping for a Tacoma I ran across one with the "Toyota STX 4x4 package" on a dealership's website. Someone stuck a Ford STX sticker on the bedside and the dealer was trying to pass it off as a real thing.

I live in NY. I rebadged my Tacoma as a Titan XD so it doesn't get stolen.

If you said you had a 4WD Prerunner, there'd be a discrepancy.

I have the best of both worlds. 13 OR but have all the matching color trims that the sport has. I wanted to confuse people so I left my OR badges on the side. To add to the confusion I swapped out my led tail lights for the oem non led tail lights lol

This is my 1994 Ford Ranger, which died last week. Apparently adding a Toyota emblem to the grille didn't make it run any better. I am now shopping for the real thing.

this is some kook stuff. No matter how you look at it you are faking the funk. And you bought the truck that way so don’t make it something it never was!

I agree with those that say put whatever the hell sticker or emblem you like on your non-TRD, non Off-Road etc. But don't try and pass it off as a TRD or Off-Road when you sell it, say that it came that way, say you don't know, or pretend you forgot to mention it. No matter what you call it, all these excuses are bullshit, lies, deception and false advertising. I've seen a ton of TRD Off-Road stickered trucks online that really weren't, and not one seller (private or dealer) has admitted knowing that it really isn't.
