    Hey everyone. Reaching out for some insight as I just mounted the 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak a/t3 with new Venomrex 17x9 VR-602 rims with the proper offset on my 2019 Tacoma (no lift) and am getting tire rub. I went through with this setup because I read a lot of reviews saying I should be fine, does anyone have any knowledge to drop? So far I have heard that I should be going with a 265/65/17 tire instead.

    Thank you.

    Agreed about the offset of the rims. I just put on some Semas with 265/70/17 wildpeaks yesterday. No rub or issues. do you have mud flaps? I know some ppl were having issues with those rubbing.

    I ran into the same issue when I got mine. I didn't understand the offset thing back then but I believe my wheels are -12 offset and yeah, they rub lol. I lifted 1.5~ roughly in the front and they only sometimes rub in reverse or when the front suspension is compressed.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Yea it's pretty minor but a bummer when I was expecting to have no issue.

    Thanks for the reply. Same size tire is rubbing for you as well even with the lift?

    Yep, not bad at all though. I have 5100s with 885 coils up front. My mudflaps are pretty much flush with the fender so they aren't sticking out. I sometimes rub in reverse (going quick), just barely. Sometimes offroading when I stuff my tire in a turn it will rub. I was under the impression that mine wouldn't rub either when I got them, thats why you gotta take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. Every truck is different and wheels play a giant roll in how much and where you will rub.

    265/70 tires on factory 16" wheels likely fit okay on a stock truck. But on 17" wheels, the 265/70 tires are usually an inch or so larger in diameter. And aftermarket 17" wheels usually have a different offset vs factory, which has an impact on rubbing (or not).

    I have 265/70/17 tires on 17x8.5 rims with -6 offset. Truck is lifted ~1.5" in the front and ~0.5" in the rear. Minor rubbing on front mud flaps. Rubbing was excessive before the lift.

    I have A/T3W and I'm +2" in front on 8" wheel -12 offset and no rubbing. 265/75/16 == 265/70/17 right?

    Thanks everyone. From all the asking around one tip was that with a 9" wide wheel I'd actually need a 265/65/17 tire but I worry I'll still have an issue. Can anyone confirm this? Otherwise my options are modifying the fender/mudflap or spending the extra money on a lift which wasn't in the budget for a bit.

    Same tires here, FN FX rims, rubs only when I'm sharp turning into my steep driveway at home, and other sharp turning bumps or entrances, right now just dealing
    with it, eventually a lift

    I looked at Falken Wildpeaks before I got my 265/70-17 General Grabber ATXs.

    The Grabbers do rub aired down and at full articulation on the trail, but only slightly. Not enough to worry about.

    However, I did see on the specs that the Wildpeaks are actually slightly larger than the Grabbers: 31.8 vs 31.6 inches. So I am not surprised that they do rub, even without mudguards.

    Hope you get it resolved without much difficulty.

    boy I hope when I get the 2020 taco sport I can put 265/70r17 falken wildpeak at3 on it because I wanted to go up one size to fill the wheel well a little more.i was hoping to change the spare tire to that size also.keeping the stock rims though.
