Toyota is currently running a promo: buy 3 tires, get 1 free.

I was planning on going with the Wildpeaks, but Discount Tire is asking close to $1100 for 4 tires plus installation.

Part of that Toyota promo are the Nitto Terra Grappler for $720 including installation.

Are the Nittos a good tire? Or should I just dish out the money for the Wildpeaks?

Two good choices I’ve had both the nittos provide less road noise in cab the Wildpeaks get louder as they wear in my experience.

I’ve also been told the Nitto is quiet compared to the others, my friend has the 33’s on his Jeep and bought them for that reason.

I have had 4 sets of Nitto's TG's on different trucks. Never a problem, wear great. Great traction snow/rain/ dry pavement.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. I have been running the Nitto Tera Grapplers on my FJ for years. Nice solid AT tire with very low noise footprint.

I'm on my 3rd set of Nittos, love them. They also are one of the lighter tires in the 285/70/17 size.

My 265s were 42lbs, my 285s are 45lbs so there was only about 1-2 mpgs lost in the upsize.

I have owned nitto TG's on 3 different trucks/jeeps and I love the fact that they are so quiet on the road for the performance they offer. I have heard great thinks about the falkens as well, but never owned the wildpeaks.

I had Nitto terra grapplers on my Ram 1500 (previous truck) and they were fine. I wasn’t blown away by their performance but they were certainly “good”.

If you can get a set of 4 + installation for $700 I would absolutely go for it.

The Nitto Terra Grapplers are on my Tacoma. They are very quiet.

I like the wildpeaks, but to save almost $400, this seems like a no brainer.

KO2s have always sucked in the wet.

Wet traction is one of the reasons I like the Nittos. The only thing they've not been good in is mud.

Dirt, snow, pavement wet or dry they've been good, especially for the price.

    Like, so many.
I had the NTGs and liked them. Currently running the NRGs because I wanted something more aggressive.

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
For those people sizing up in tires.. remember to replace your spare.

Someone may be able to learn from my mistake as I didn't originally get the 5th and ended up having to wait months and pay $50 more for the tire (due to stock shortages at my retailer.)

Yeah I'm running the wild peaks and I love em I don't notice any road noise myself. But a $400 difference I'd def go with Nitto.
