My experience as well, although I also upsized to 265/75/R16 when replacing the stock tires. I mainly notice the difference when being aggressive on the throttle, at stable highway speeds it's only slightly lower.

Those are two words that can’t be used together, unless you’re buying oil on sale

I'll be #2. I loved them in the mud and snow but I had a bitch of a time getting them balanced. I even paid out of pocket to a second tire store to road force balance them. The amount of weights they stuck on my wheels was crazy. They were great around town but on the interstate they had some vibes. I also lost about 3 mpg. I don't think the WP's are made as well now as in the past. I took them off and sold them. When I got different tires the salesman was floored I didn't like them, you are the ONLY one blah blah blah...I didn't care, my truck is so much more enjoyable to drive at speed now.

My truck came with 265/70/16 Dunlop's. Next set was 245/75/16 Cooper AT3's, then back to 265/70/16's BFG's. When those wore out, I moved up to 265/75/16 Cooper AT3's. Then E rated LT-265/75/16 Pirelli's. Currently with 265/75/16 Goodyear's.

After 16 years, 237,000 miles on 6 sets of tires in 3 different sizes and tire weights ranging from 38-53 lbs. my fuel mileage has remained exactly the same. For normal everyday driving 16-17. Road trips are usually 19-20 mpg. I've hit 22 mpg a couple of times on road trips where conditions were perfect. Still the same as the 1st tank after buying it in 2007.

I've never used Falken tires on my Tacoma, but had a set on a Honda. They were good tires and I have no doubt they would be good for your Tacoma. I seriously doubt if you'll see any measurable difference in fuel mileage.
