They are quieter, but slightly. After 10-12k the Falken’s rubber gets hard and loud and seemed to not be as smooth on the road. That’s not a big deal considering I used them for off-roading. The Falkens are a great tire as well and got the job done.

This is my second set of Hankook on two different Tacomas. Keep in mind the Falken is technically a 6-ply and the Hankook is 4-ply making them lighter. I’ve never had an issue with 4-ply for off-roading and trail riding, but guys who rock crawl the sharp stuff probably prefer more plies. I really like the 255/75/17 size as I don’t feel power loss and they steer very responsively.

I got all 5 tires with TPMS switched over from the stock wheels for $900 from discount tire out the door with the tire protection warranty

Love these tires, and looking forward to really pushing them shortly.

The yellow dot is supposed to line up with the valve stem for better balancing.

I think they are great tires... I have about 15k on them and they are holding up very well.

Really? I love these tires, had them road force balanced and still seem to have a vibration at higher speeds. This might be the issue!

Every company is different with their dots..

I'm pretty sure the falken's are yellow goes with valve... red goes with the punch mark on the rim...

Ideally red on punchmark is the best...

But if you can't find the punch mark which indicate the heavy side of the wheel, you just install with yellow on valve stem...

We’ve had some troubles in the plant with some of the tires not being able to balance out. Was told some are from our US plant and the others have been from the Thailand plant. Not sure if all the cases have been bad tires, I’m sure a few cases are due to improper mounting or someone not wanting to spend a lot of time getting the tire to balance correctly.

That being said on the set I bought from our plant, I did have one that wasn’t balancing. Took a while to get it to balance. It had some vibration at first but got better after driving it about 50-100 miles. Still has a slight vibration but it’s a truck and the tires are more aggressive than stock, so I know it’s not going to ride like a Cadillac.

Just got these installed Monday, spent about 50 miles driving around in town sub 45mphon drive surface streets. Today I took a 150 highway trip with about 75 miles of that on slick compacted snow/ice mix. The tires were planted, zero issues - they substantially out performed the KO2's I just replaced, at least in these conditions. I'm not a fan boy. I bought these based on the reviews here and the cost, with the intention of swapping them out within 30 days for Duratraks if I had any issues (Discount Tire offers a 30 day ride guarantee).

At least for my purposes and the conditions I need my tires to perform well in, these are kicking ass.

my dots are all gone!!:annoyed: That's what i get for washing the damn truck every week. I'm pretty sure Americas tire didn't line up the dots. I also see a lot of photos with other guys having theirs not line up. Anyone else getting vibrations from these tires?

Wondering if there's ever a reason not to line them up. America's Tire installed mine. On two the dots are lined up, and on two they're not even close. Seems odd that 2 would randomly line up perfectly, so it makes me think that was done intentionally. I will say that one of the ones that is lined up perfectly has a TON of wheel weights on it. Regardless, I've got no vibrations.

weird. I would suspect that maybe they had 2 techs working your truck and 1 of them did it correctly? I can't tell on mine because they washed off the dots, it was the first thing I looked for. Seems to ride fine so I'm not too worried about it.

If a tire isn’t balancing right or needs a ton of weight in one spot some will break the bead and spin the tire around to try and even it out better. Perhaps this is what happened in your case.

Went straight to the tire shop to have Wildpeaks (265/75) put on after taking delivery of the truck.
