Most place are trying to make a profit. Selling these tires for 460 installed I can tell you they aren’t making much money at all. Infact if what some people here are claiming they paid for these tires, it’s just about what I paid for them or a little less, being an employee at the plant. Before they released the new discount program for us employees for these tires, the dealership I used to work at, employee cost was $159 each. That would of had a 10% markup over what their physical cost was.

Tires look sweet on the Pro! Contemplating on getting these as well, since the stock tires are absolute crap on snow/ice. Did you have to do any adjusting for the odometer to be accurate? How are you liking the tires on your Pro?

Thanks. However, I don't remember how stock felt. I think I drove the stock tires for roughly 10 miles before swapping them out. I did drive them through light snow going up to Crystal Mountain in WA. For a AT tire, they are remarkably sticky in the rain (Remembering how the KO2s didn't perform). For the price, you really can't beat the performance of what this tire brings.

These tires are going to be the stock tire on the Jeep Gladiator so that's not going to help price. Increased name recognition alone might be driving up price some nevermind the increased demand as Jeep starts buying these direct from the factories. Just my theory.

You will see price increases soon. The tires that come from our other plants will have increased tariffs and our Buffalo plant is by far the most costly of all the SRI plants. Also was just told some of the bulk we buy there was a shortage and/or price increase. Those are all things that effect price. Still The wildpeaks are priced well below most competitors similar products. Their prices will only continue to increase as well

In the ever-frustrating tire selection search, I'm leaning toward these tires for my bone stock SR 4x4. My primary debate: 265/75r16 vs 265/70r16. It's essentially an aesthetics vs performance decision, I suppose. Anyone have pictures of the latter?

Stock size on the OR. I have a ~1" 6112 lift.

Here you go. Ive got about 2000 miles on them and am already thinking of replacing them with the 75. I’m very happy with the tire, but just wish I’d gone with the bigger size. I’m also up just under an inch in the front with 5100s.

Go 265/75/R16. Shouldn't have any real issues with rubbing and if you upgrade wheels or add some lift, the truck won't look like it skipped leg day as much as with the 70s.

The rational side of my brain is screaming about mpg and wear and tear on drivetrain, the other side demands the aesthetics of the 75. Fml.

    Fun Story:

So last Friday I noticed my ride was starting to pull to the right while driving to work so I check my tire pressure on my screen and my front right is at 26 psi but holding. I pull into a gas station to check the tire and I found a nail on the inner portion of the tire in between the sidewalk and normal contact point. Pretty much right where it starts to round off. I go to a random tire place to see if they can patch it and they said that technically that is the sidewall and that it’s not repairable.

    nail location
    IMG_0683.jpg

They put air in it for me and it held. So, I call Discount Tire Direct, which is where I purchased them from, to let them know what the tire shop said and they’re like, “Your new replacement tire will be at your home by Monday. No charge. If u want a certificate for the replacement tire it’s just $14.” I told the guy let’s do it but that I wanted to also order a tire for my spare since it’s not the same size (stock 265/70/r16). I asked him what kind of deal he could give me. He looked it up and said I can get u another tire for $100 out the door. I was like “fuck yeah let’s do it. Oh I want to add the certificate for that tire to please.” He was like, “that price includes the certificate.”

I placed the order and he calls me back about an hour later telling me that he placed a hold on my 2 tires (free replacement and spare) because he is trying to find a way to get them to me by next day. He emails me about 30 minutes later letting me know he was able to find some closer to me and that they will be in the next day. A few minutes later I get an email with the tracking info of my tires. I noticed that there were two different tracking numbers but I just assumed each tire had it's own tracking number.

The next day, the wife calls me to let me know that my tires have arrived. I got home and to my surprise.......

If you feel like the aesthetics are important, I think it will only gnaw at you every time you see the truck. I had the same concerns as you because I also commute in the truck, but really, everytime I look at the truck I wish it had the bigger tires. I'm pretty sure I'm going to make the switch, and am curious to see what the effect is. Surprisingly the 75 series is only like 2lbs more than the 70 so I don't think there will be a profound change. That said, what wheels are they going on? Part of the reason I think mine may look off is that I went from the stock +25 offset to a -12 offset, and I think the aggressive offset screams for bigger tires. While it's obviously an optical illusion, I feel like stock tire on stock wheels look bigger than my stock size Wildpeaks on more aggressive wheels.

Longshot, but just throwing this out there. If you happen to be from SoCal, and do decide you want the 70s, I'd sell the ones I have for half what I paid for them, so like $250. 2K miles, no patches, no alignment issues, etc.

That's where I'm at but debating between 265/75/16 and 285/75/16. I'm trying real hard not to pull the 285 trigger!

For the short term they'll go on - gasp - stock grey SR steelies. I'd like to put them on SCS F5s in a few months, but I'm admittedly lacking in my understanding of wheels, offset, etc.

You should sell them for like $350, and then buy 2 more for a profit. I know a guy who will be driving through OC next week that would do that deal ;-).
