Got my Wildpeaks installed today at DT - 265/75/16 SL. Quick drive on the freeway, I couldn't feel any shaking or vibrations, SUPER smooth, seems quieter than stock GYs. Love the look, but they are too clean, need to get some mud and dirt on em :) IMG_20190525_151456.jpg IMG_20190525_183831.jpg

How much lift did you gain from your lift ? Do you feel like that size of perfect or would you have preferred a bigger size ?

I have a 2019... I'm running factory set Bilstein 8112s with Camburg UCAs up front and 5160s in the rear with a 1 1/2" 3-leaf AAL pack. With the Falkens, I gained an easy 1 1/2" upfront and a solid 2" in the rear. I want to crank my fronts up about 1/2" more at around 10,000 miles when I ready to get another alignment. My last alignment specs were really good so I decided to just drive it for a while as is.

As to what's "perfect"... I'm very happy with my set up, but "perfect" is very subjective. This was my thinking: I didn't do the needle bearing replacement, I didn't want to ruin my ride with vibrations from the driveline, I was concerned about gearing and I didn't want to totally mess with my mpg. So, I decided to try and copy the ride height of the Pro or go just a bit taller. I'm very happy with the set up.

    hope this helps...

    Stock tires vs the Falkens...

Would you guys say the standard load falkens have the same ride quality more or less as the stock tires?

Ive had all terrain tires before where the ride was much firmer and jarring over road bumps and stuff. Im hoping the SL Falken Wildpeaks aren't like that.

They aren’t. Honestly they take bumps way better than the stock Toyos did. My falkens in the SL really absorb some bumps. I would never go back to stock tires, honestly can’t say sound or ride quality is worse. Only became better.

I'd say the ride is more like an off-road tire. I run them at 32 psi and as a result they are definitely softer than stock tires which i ran at 37 psi. But, because the Falkens are more aggressive, I notice that a little bit in the steering wheel and ride quality --especially when they are cold. My stock tires road more like a car.

I bought a set of 265/70r17 a week ago Friday and fitted them on new TRD Pro SEMA wheels. It's really hard to capture how good the proportions are on the truck but I'm very happy with the look and stance. I drove it straight from Discount Tire to my buddies shop to get it aligned.

Initial impressions of the tires are positive. They're barely nosier on the freeway. Ride comfort is much better than the stock Goodyear's. I thought I had a bad balance job and took them back in a week later for rebalance again using a road force machine (they road force balanced on the initial install at my request).

I drove the truck thoroughout the long weekend and at 60mph I'm still getting some shaking. In trying to diagnose it the best way I can describe it is that the tire doesn't feel round. It's not a shimmy, more it's like a shake if that makes any sense.

I'm going to take it back in on Friday and see what they say. It took me a long time to decide on these tires and I hope that I don't have to look again at others, I'd really like them to work out.

It’s a shame so many people have issues with these. They look so damn good.

I have the same issue. I had my tires balance twice and one on the back just seems ever so slightly out of balance. I dropped the air pressure to 32 and that really seemed to help. Also, when the tire heats up say after 15 minutes of driving the vibration goes completely away. I asked to have the tires road forced balanced twice and I have my doubts as to whether or not they actually did it.

I watched the tire tech on the initial install. I don't think he knew exactly what he was doing but was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The 2nd balance I left the truck as I had other things to do. It was marginally better but definitely doesn't go away after the tires heat up, my commute is 40-50 mins long with the last 20 mins at freeway speeds. I'm definitely going to take it back and have a talk with them, I hate to think how annoyed I'll be on our summer trip to New Mexico with the tires shaking the whole time.
