Wish I’d known that a week ago! I did get them to match a $60 coupon found online so I would have only saved $40 anyway...

Nice, thanks for the heads up! FWIW, I'm on the phone with the local brick and mortar Discount and they're matching the DTD price no questions asked.

After having these tires on for a couple weeks now, I have come back to say they are awesome! Ride smooth, relatively quiet. Can’t wait to test them out in the snow!

Sweet! I probably should have tried that. I don't have my wheels yet though, so figured it would be easier to have them shipped to my house.

I'm still debating on what shop I want to gamble on to mount/balance tires on brand new wheels. :notsure:

So just switched over to the Falkens from Toyo's. These r abit heavier but soo so much smoother... No lift. Live in NM currently for winter i am running 35 psi F, and 30 psi rear. 265/75r16. I chose these because I had them on another vehicle and never had issues... and it is the smallest 75 tire in the AT category (most rev per mile for a 75).

I just got mine installed last week on the same 2020 pro wheels. I'm curious how much weight did yours take to balance?

I feel a slight rumble in the floor of my truck around 55mph and am debating trying to get them re balanced or maybe road force balanced. The vibration comes and goes rythmically, so it could just be this combo of truck/wheel/tire doing some weird harmonic vibration.

    What size did u get?..
So my back left wheel does have a lot of weights on it.. the rest not so much. Sounds like you may have a balance issue on one of the rear tires. I would have the shop that installed them, do a road force balance.. You could also ask them to replace the tires that required the most weights or were the hardest to match... doesn't necessarily have to be out of round to cause issue.. The dealership will also do a road force for you. My Toyota Dealership did my vehicle for free... and i didn't even get the tires there.

Another easy check would have them swap the front and rear tires.... If the vibes move to your steering wheel u know its a balance issue with one of the tires that moved to the front.... if it is stil in the floor... then i could be a weird harmonic thing happening.

In the end, your issue is something that should be fixable. I know it sucks... but that rumble should not be something u should live with. The fact it comes on at around 55 is indicative of a balance issue. Also check your PSI in the back.. could be super high which may cause issues as well.... When I got my vehicle back from discount tire all tires were at 37 psi... which was too high.

hope that helps... don't feel bad about complaining man... if u don't run it down it will drive u insane
    cheers!

Thanks for the info! They are 265/75/16. I think I just got a bad balance job from my local DT. I think they all have a lot of weights, and they ignored the red/yellow alignment markers on the tire even though I asked them about it.

I rotated them myself today (swapping front and rears) to see if the vibrations moved to the steering wheel and it didn't. I also wanted to retorque everything myself with a good torque wrench and that didn't make a difference.

I'm at 35 psi on all 4, will chalk test it tomorrow and adjust accordingly.

I'll probably ping my local dealer and inquire about road force balancing to see if it makes a difference.

Yeah a poor balance job sounds about right... Yeah they didn't match the yellow dot on one of my tires.. it bothers me but I know they road forced and the ride is crazy smooth. Yeah man I think u got yor way ahead... keep us posted on what gets them fixed! Oh and I do think the Dealership does a better job balancing our trucks... just 2 cents. good luck man.

Bought my first Tacoma last weekend and had the dealer switch out the tires right away to the 75 wild peaks perks of knowing the service manager. I didn’t have a baseline for mpg or anything since it was my first taco, but these tires have been great we got a foot or more of snow before Christmas and the roads are still horrible so I have had it in 4 pretty much 5 days in a row now and these tires grip like crazy. Mpg is around 18 but that’s city driving. My fiancé will be driving it to work about 60 miles rt and last week before the snow we pushed 20. 1CE8121F-8079-4F3A-B3BE-82AA2D93DA7D.jpg

I just put on 265/75R16 SL wildpeaks at3w on my 19 OR. Using stock wheels. So far they ride great, seemed to balance well (no vibrations)
No rubbing of any kind. They feel like the stock tires.. quiet and smooth but look so much better. Definitely happy. So glad I choose not to get an E rated tire. And I do alot of offroading on powerline roads in the desert.

Do you crawl heavy or not? If you needed the E you would probably already know. Also look at vehicles around you , Tacoma’s on the trail. Most people will understand why you’re asking. I think the SL is great have them myself. Plenty of rocky trails and forest roads here in central Oregon I’ve never had a puncture

I'm still chasing this rythmic vibration through my floorboard and felt in my pedals.

I've rotated them around and the vibration doesn't move between the steering wheel or floor. I got two different DT shops to balance them. (Apparently the DT shops in my area Road Force them automatically). The RF numbers are really low like 3,10,13,13 even though they all still look like they require a lot of weight.

I stopped in some other places asking about the Haweka Adapter and got deer in headlights look everywhere I went. My dealership didn't even know what I was talking about.

Discount Tire Direct offered to ship me two more tires to swap, I'd just be taking a chance on which tires to swap since they are all similar RF numbers. Sigh... I'll be curious to see how it goes for others getting ready to purchase/balance their setups.

FYSA: " The Haweka adapter won't do you any good because they are made for lug centric wheels, like 4runners have on them. Tacoma's have hub centric wheels, not lug centric, so the Haweka adapter won't apply in your case. "

Sucks that u r still running that down man.

Has the tire shop tried breaking the bead loose on the tire and spinning the tire 180 degrees on the wheel reseating the bead and rebalancing?
I worked for a few years at discount tire and it seemed this would cure about 80% of tires that would not balance good the first seating. It always reduced the amount of weight needed to zero out balance also. It seems some wheels have a heavy spot same as any given tire.. 180ing the tire on the wheel usually resolves when the two heavy spots align. Outside of that some tires just are out of round and need to go back to the manufacturer.
    Just my .02
