So I recently had Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires (265/75R16) installed onto my 16" Ray10 wheels at a local shop. I noticed that I had some shaking issues above 55mph so I took it back and had them rebalanced. This time the tires felt smooth with no shake until about 65mph but it seemed to only happen when the tires were cold, it was inconsistent tire balance issues.

So I was frustrated and took it to a local Discount Tire to have them road force balance the tires and they said that all 4 tires came in under 30lbs variation and that was normal for a truck tire.

To me that seems like it is too high, but they said there wasn't anything else they could change and that the tires were in balance. I am still getting a shake and now it seems to happen at various speeds and be somewhat related to temperature.

At this point I kind of wish I went with a different tire, but there isn't a lot of options at 16" that isn't extremely heavy.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what to try next?

what pressures are you running? mine had a slight shake at about 65, but seemed to correct itself in about 1k miles

I just had the same issue. A month ago I purchased a set of the exact same tires you have. They had a really bad wobble above 55mph. It was enough to shake the bed of my truck constantly. After SEVEN trips to the Discount Tire location I purchased them from to have them road force balanced and force matched, I made the choice to go with BFGs and couldn't be happier. The Wildpeaks I had were, by far, the worst tires I've had on a vehicle.

I was told by DiscountTire and read on some other threads here that these tires don't play nice with some aftermarket wheels. Freeway shake is always the symptom, front or rear.

These are the best tires I've ever ran. Just my opinion.

My Wildpeaks have been great. I think there might have been a lil shake brand new but went away quick. I've ran 36 psi in them also & on Method wheels. Got mine at Discount Tire & liked them enough to go buy a 5th wheel & tire for spare

I'm looking at buying these exact tires. Are you guys running the C load or SL? I'm on stock rims.

I had mine mounted and balanced at the Toyota Dealer, no issues at all, very happy with these tires.

for the record mine are mounted onto SCS SR8s. a little shake in the beginning, i was concerned it might be a thing, but it all went away rather quickly with a few hundred miles on them. so far, i like them better than the KO2s i ran on my tundra. quieter, and feel just as sticky if not stickier on wet pavement and dirt

I have the SL 265/70/17 & were great this winter. Not sure I would have made it through this winter on the stock tires!!!
