I had problems with my Wildpeaks and discount tire switched them out for me. I switched to Nitto Ridge Grapplers and only had to pay the difference in price between the tires.

What are your thoughts on the Ridge Grapplers versus the Wildpeaks? Discount Tire is taking my WPs in as well, and ordered me the Ko2’s - but I’m torn between the BFGs and the Ridge Grapplers.

I have had no issues with them in the 500 miles I have had them. I got them in the standard load rating, 285/70/17. I still need to get them offroad, hopefully next weekend. :mudding:

How’s the highway ride and noise versus the Wildpeaks? And what was your issues with the WP’s? Same as me, vibrations above 50mph?

Highway ride is smooth and they sound similar to the what my Wildpeaks did, I have no complaints with them.
I had vibrations 45 to 55 range. When I went back to discount, they noticed that they were out of round. They ended up moving the tires on the wheel a little bit and then did a road force balance. I had zero vibrations for about a week and then they started to show up again. They also mentioned they have had similar issues with 3 other Tacoma's that ran Wildpeaks.

I went to firestone and got a road force balance done and this fixed any vibration issues. They detected that there was excess balance weight installed on my driver side rear tire. I havent had any other issues since then. We got about 9" of snow and they were a blast to use. I went out onto the fire roads in the hills and had a blast in the snow. So far I'm very happy with my Wildpeaks.

    Define "decent."

Also what is the reason jeep switched?

I get what you are saying about expensive purchases but I'd definitely like you to expand a little on your claims.

I'm another one debating between the BFGs and WPs. Heard good/bad stories about both so it's hard to tell what's true, but anecdotally would say u hear more bad about WPs. Is it that falken has QC issues?

Expensive doesn't always mean better. My last set of tires were Toyo Open country AT2 which cost A LOT more than the Falkens and they did not perform as well as their price point "should be". They were comfortable on the highway but were Terrible in the wet weather. I live in the northeast and trying to move from a stop sign that's on a hill while it is lightly raining was sometimes impossible and annoying. As they aged they just got worse and worse in the wet weather. At 50k miles they were useless during a 2 day summer thunderstorm and just unsafe. That next day is when I put new tires on my truck.

I've lived in the NE for long enough to know that you can carry weight for rear wheel traction. DUH!! Im talking about in the summer when im not going to have 250lbs of sand in my truck for the snow.

If its anything though. The Toyos were damn good in the snow but the falkens are great in the snow and the rain. :)

NO SWAYBAR, Spacer lift with dirty4's
The falkens have performed better than K02's I burned through in 10k mi. I drive my truck hard (Broken the frame) i've had 20+ alignments in 2 years.. I dont have a cheap spacer lift like most the people who love Ko2's.. so my opinion isn't worth anything.

Man those tires look older than the 7yr old winters on my Camry.

I've had my Wildpeaks since last March and they look brand new. Rubber still sticky, haven't worn at all, and still look smooth (no cracks)

Taking off my Wildpeak AT/3 265/70/17 today after 65K +/- miles. Mild wobbles @45mph - mostly braking. No other issues at all. The shop that put them on is quite impressed. Switching to the Wildpeak H/T02 only because I do too many road miles in comparison to off road.

Agreed. Why I am sticking with Falken. Sitting in the shop now getting the new ones!

So disappointed with these tires. I have installed 265/65R17 because my OCD me dont want to deal with off speedometer. Guess what, my speedometer is now 2km per hour slower than the GPS speed. My old wheels (stock) is bang on the GPS speed. I have called their Falken tech but they cannot explain why. Did my own research, the rev/mile of this tire is off compare to other brands. I'm regretting buying this. I hope I can return this. K02 and Duratrac are close to the stock rev/mile specs.
