Falken Wildpeak Issues

Has anyone had these issues come up with skinnies? I'm thinking of upgrading my tires to 255/80/17. I'm debating between coopers or Falkens. The price point however is really making me lean towards Falkens though.

 

Oh, and I'm running Sema wheels if that makes any difference.

 

Well, that's encouraging lol. But I do realize there are many happy owners of WP, but I have multiple threads for this very problem. I don't really feel like rolling the dice so im thinking ST Maxx seem to be the way to go.

 

I upgraded to 265/70/17 (stock OR should come with this size in my humble opinion)NITTO when I bought the truck a few months ago and they've been great and comfortable. But I purchased suspension and when Install I'd like to fill my wheel well a little better and I don't feel like chopping anything on my truck. My commute is about 30 miles both way so I'm hoping it won't be too bad.

 

Well I’m at America’s tire for the second time having them see if they can figure out my intermittent issue that feels like a tire that isn’t balanced correctly or is out of round. Funny thing is I only feel it sometimes like usually in the morning and sometimes it’s barely noticeable and other times it’s really noticeable. They road forced them once already and forced matched one that was bad.
The first time after original mount and balance I brought them back to be checked and 3 of 4 were not balanced correctly so that’s when they road forced them free.
As I sit here now they put a 20 year veteran on my truck so here’s hoping they can figure it out.

 

Just had wheel replaced. Still some shake. bummed. Will deal with it until tires are worn out and get different tires.

 

I purchased a set of 5 285/75/16's and so far have had no issues in the first 5k miles. I can update if things arise. I am not sure if this problem is size specific or not

 

Starting to wonder if it’s only the 265/75/16 size.
Mine feel much better now since they re-road forced them on Saturday.
Think I can live with them now.

Driving my normal route to work this morning, the shake was for sure a-lot better. I think once I go get that single wheel re-forced balanced, I should be 99% no shake.

All and all, stoked it is somewhat better.

 

Ah geez, I just got a set delivered to my shop yesterday. I hope I don't run into the same issues. Just waiting for wheels to arrive.

 

I’ve got 265/70r17 wildpeaks and I’ve had them for about 2000 miles almost and they’re riding fine. I did get them from my local tire shop and not a chain place.

 

mine have been on 5 k miles no issues

 

I'm on my second set of Wildpeak AT3W. My previous 16" in "P" Load balanced fine and were great for 50,000 KMs. My current set of 17" "P" have been balanced multiple times over the past few months and I'm having brutal vibrations, at a complete loss what to do. The place I bought from aren't being helpful at all.

 

I’m running 265/70/16 AT3w and have had zero issues. I’m over 50,000 miles on them currently.

 

Been running these tires on my 19 Tacoma since I purchased it. Just crossed 6k miles and have had zero issues. Love the tires. My last truck I ran BFG's. Both tires I like but the Falken price is way better with a longer tread life also.

 

Did the same place mount and balance the 16" and 17" tires?
Specs on your 17" wheels?

 

Nope - they did not. The new place has been "road force" balancing.
Specs on the 17" wheel are the TRD Sema Rims. 17x7, 4mm Offset. Tires are 265/70/17.

 

Did you happen to see how the wheel was mounted to the machine? High taper cone, low taper cone, lug plate, etc?
