Doesn't matter to me either way. Being me I'd get it coated. You could always just use some rattle cans

Tomorrow should be a nice day, going to try and drop the skid plate and spray down the front and get inside some of the panels.

Jason, when you spray the back when people drop the spares, do you have to worry about getting woolwax dripping/contacting on the spare once raised back up? I hear mixed things on rubber and woolwax, though woolwax says not to worry about rubber and their product.

Not that I know of. My spare stays in the bed. I also spray where the body mounts are too plus around suspension everything. No rubber issues I know of

My spare’s been up against my Wool Waxed undercarriage going on 4 years. The tire is fine.
Also, the spare tire lift and storage mechanism is rust free, well lubricated with Wool Wax, and operates with ease.
Let the goop fly (except brakes and exhaust).

I think I'm finally mostly done except for the doors and inside the rocker panels. Have to put the plate back on tomorrow....had to rush to finish due to a neighborhood Halloween parade for the kids...basically went soaked head to toe in woolwax. But it was fun to have our infant there with the neighbors, it was a nice way to end the day (with beers too).

Hey Jason. Hit the underside for about two hours with the pressure washer and hoses. So I think we're as good as we're gonna get :D I'll watch you do it this time and if I see mud coming out anywhere I'll take notes to clean that for next time. I probably won't be hitting any serious trails between now and spring spray anyway. If anything just some gravel roads - so should be good!!!

Prep work for Saturday session? Do you wash out every year before a coating? I already have leafs stuck to my fresh coat. Though I guess I never have to worry now until I clean it in the spring. At first I was freaking out like....leafs get wet under there! It'll rust! But of it's stuck to the Woolwax that means there's gotta be a layer between the leaf (wet or dry) so it'll be good.

Getting the truck ceramic'ed later this month, have to remember to tell them not to blast the undercarriage or springs while prepping it

Oh - Uhhhhh, I take mine off road.

    RIPxglvTDq44Juz-bzeKc22ukY2orbCi75Xn34Wu_0ae4011f680c530fb58c64c367915e0bc4e3a73c.jpg

That just packs into the frame rails etc, so I like to clean it as best I can before I bring it to Jason so he doesn't get sandblasted haha

I need to do my diff oil and engine oil tonight/tomorrow, then hit the car wash and that's me for the winter.

Yes - please tell them it's undercoated and not to wash the under bits at all.

Yup, can't have them wash my hard work away!

I'd love to get some actual off roading done this spring, I'd like to find some wide trails to start and get comfortable to not worry about pinstripes and work my way up.

Freetown/Fall River state forest - just fire roads. Also I have a mapped route on Gaia thanks to Eammon for a gravel road tour of Vermont, with a smidge of "trails" to get to the brewery  but it was just a class 4 (6?) road, it's "a trail", was about a mile, and I didn't even air down and had not even a concern haha. Otherwise just a bunch of dirt roads, not doing shenanigans like this:

Jason - I would jump on this and free up the first slot but I took a weekend shift at work - working at noon on Sunday! Sorry my friend.

PS I don't have pork this time but I am bringing cheese.

Anything I should look out for when having someone other than jay do it?

I've never had someone do this kind of thing before and don't know what to expect or what to ask a shop when getting it done

That they drop your spare and go to town lol. Or to ensure they spray there drop it yourself. Hopefully they've done some tacomas and know where the weird chambers are. Like under the bed at the rear on both sides there's two sheet metal boxes basically
