Um...what does that mean? Are you sharing with someone who already has reservations? If so let me know so I can put you down as sharing the site. Or are you going to gamble on getting one of the three remaining walk-up sites?

 

Updated the OP and rearranged the Attendance List a bit to hopefully make it clearer who's reserved a site but hasn't partnered up yet. If you want to share a space with these folks, I suggest PMing them and ask about it. If they're agreeable, let me know and I'll update the list.

I'm open to sharing my site... As long as the person is not easily offended by drinking, smoking, or bad language... Because come dark thirty I'll be sitting by a fire with some whiskey in one hand, a smoke in the other, and no shits to give!

 

Haha, on the other hand, if it's anything like it was last year, there won't be any sitting by a fire. We ended up hanging out under Timbo and Frank's canopies doing all that...about 20' away from the fire. It was too damn hot to hang around the fire.

That said, all those disclaimers apply to me too...except I'll probably be drinking beer . I was considering bringing a bottle of rum to mix with my Dr. Pepper at the annual meet back in February, but I ended up not bothering. I'm a lightweight though...I only drink on New Years Eve and at these camping meets, so after about 3-4 beers, I'm feeling no pain.

 

Haha!! I drink 2 times a month... I may have a beer in between here and there but as far as drinking several beers and chasing them with whiskey... i try and limit that these days.

I'm hoping someone comes with an RTT... I have never got to check one out in person but i think i NEED one!

I camp quite a bit... Go fishing, bowfishing, and to the hunting camp often as well. I think an RTT was meant for me LOL

RTTs are pretty cool for trips where you don't stay at the same place every night though.

 

I'll take my RTT over a ground tent even for Citrus. With the set up and take down being so quick. Keeping sleeping gear in it and folding it up is amazing. Also airing it out at home is much more of a breeze then a grounder

 

I'm too lazy for that. I just want to set it up and take it down once no matter how easy it is. Also, I'm not positive about it, but I don't think there's enough headroom to stand up in a RTT. That was a major feature I was looking for when I bought the tent I have now...cuz getting old sucks.

Edit: That said, if I was going on a trip where I wasn't camping in the same place every night, I'd definitely rather have the RTT type setup for easy of setup and the comfort factor of not being on the ground.

 

Id love an rtt like a lot.... I spend a lot of time in the woods... but man they are expensive!!

I thought i had seen some for around 300 but then learn that was just the ground piece accessory or "annex".... 1000 or more for the tent and then another 600 or so for the bed rack... Too rich for me. I live on military disability.

I guess I'll stick with a hammock! LOL

 

I'd hate a hammock. It'd get old really fast waking up a few quarts low on blood after the 'skeeters feast on ya all night. Plus if it's cold out, you can put a heater in a tent. Last February, it was a little chilly Sunday morning, but I kicked the heater on and it warmed the tent up to a nice toasty 60* so I could get dressed without being cold.

 

Haha, the best thing though would probably be to get one of those Pop-up campers, a small one...at least for trips like Citrus. They probably wouldn't survive on the trail like David's trailer/RTT setup would (I'm assuming Timbo's is similar in capability) though.

 

Man i love a hammock. I put brackets in the walls of my last house and slept in a hammock for over a year... I had a bed but the hammock was so much more comfortable... I get heartburn bad when i lay flat but no issues in a hammock. My back is also never sore when i sleep in a hammock...


But full disclosure... A friend with back problems recommended it and It took a few nights for me to get used to it. At first i couldn't get comfortable and my legs would cramp or fall asleep... but i learned to lay at an angle and started loving it.

And my hammock is treated in permethrin (spelling?) which helps stops the skeeters and i have a net that goes around the hammock as well... But It can get cold in them... I have a pretty good sleeping bag lol


Also i usually bring a little pop up tent. Had it for years but it works ok if its too cold or i dont have trees for the hammock.
