    I’m new to this thread but since I’m located in central Florida it looks like this is one to follow. Looking for folks who want to 4 wheel in this area. I’m just south of St. Augustine and have a 17 Tacoma TRD off road. Still totally “stock”.
    Anything planned in the next few weeks?? If so It would be great to see what this truck can do.

    Nothing Offroad that I know of near you. There is a meet planned for Lazy Springs down south. We are supposed to be putting together another Tamlando Show & Shine lunch meet for some time in December and the big state-wide Annual Meet at Citrus is in the planning stages for the first of the year (currently voting for the exact weekend).

    Yeah. I don't plan on doing anything too ridiculous out there. This is my DD (well, I drive it to and from the airport, at least). I've got the side steps on it, and they took a little bit of a beating at Citrus. More substantial rocker protection is definitely on the list for the future.

    A lot of ppl with the step bars take them off before going to the wheeling meets. Or at least they used to. I'm seeing a lot more folks these days with sliders on their truck before they ever go to a meet. Thankfully, the new folks seem to be listening to those of us that have been around the block a few times and making sliders their very first mod. :thumbsup:

    Haha, back when I first joined TW, it seemed like everyone had to learn why sliders are a good idea the hard way. :D

    I bought the sidesteps I have to replace the OEM ones that made it a pain to get in and out of the truck (I was planning on driving for Lyft and Uber on the weekends).

    Just to clarify, the ppl that took their steps off for the meets put them back on after the meet for street use. ;) I will say this, sliders are less than ideal for use as step bars unless you mount them as low as the step bars hang and then you're giving up a lot of ground clearance and they might look goofy. :D I normally don't use mine as a step unless there's some kind of hole under the door that makes it hard for my short arse to get into the truck normally.
