Fallout 4

I've been playing the game for about a week, still don't really know what I'm doing all that well. But it's fun and I sit down to play and suddenly 8 hours have gone by so I clearly enjoy it. Really need to go find the detective and start doing the main storyline again.

 

Just FYI

The "main" storyline is a bit of a misnomer. There's...well, disregarding internet info, at least 3 ways to 'beat' the game and keep on truckin'.

It isn't a one-and-done deal

 

I ran into those Children of Atom dudes and their gamma guns last night , those guys pissed me off

 

Interesting, I have done much research but as far as I can tell from my currently active quests that's the most important one to do currently. Other than that I just have some USS Constitution and BOS missions.

 

Those gamma guns are one way to really piss of raiders and humans though, especially modded.

 

I can imagine , they pissed me off on the receiving end

Two things...

1: Cabot gave me an artifact gamma gun, but I haven't used or modded it yet. What does it do?

2: how much can I do with the different factions before I get locked into one and engage the main story?
I know if I start the fusion reactor mission with the institute that BoS will permanently become my enemy. I have done a decent amount of rail road missions aready, very few minute men, and very few BoS.

I'd prefer to do as many missions as I can from all factions before engaging the main story line.

 

I had the same two things on my last playthrough, which is why I rerolled to check out the BoS storyline this time. And why I'll likely do another playthrough after that for the Minutemen stuff.

 

There will be a point when you are prompted to choose a side and the game will notify you of the outcome of your decision (I.E., doing this will make you a permanent enemy of a certain faction). As far as I know, you can stay friendly will all factions until this point.

I did come across "(optional)" quests at points where I was given the opportunity to "tell so-and-so about so-and-so's plan." I did not do them on my first go around, but I assume a "choose side" prompt will appear before you choose.

 

You guys know that guy that is part of your original Sanctuary settlers ? Ying Yang or Dim Sum or whatever his name is , the guy that complains all the time and says " I just wanna be left alone " all the time when you go near him ? Well that guy pisses me off . I assigned him to a gaurd post at Sanctuary to try to get him away from my workshop area . Anyway last night I cleared the high school near Diamond City and found the huge squirrel mascot head , brought it home with me to Sanctuary and now that clown wanders around Sanctuary with a huge squirrel head on , lol

He looks like Max in Thunderdome when they send him out into the desert on the horse

 

I am so heading for that high school tonight now

So did you give it to him or store it in the workshop?

 

Any time you want to equip a settler just talk to them , use trade , move items to them and then equip the items on their menu

Thats how I give my settlers better armor and weapons I bring back too

 

I put that head along with the Grognak outfit on my follower (Curie). It's a pretty sweet setup and looks great when she slams someone onto the ground.

 

I have that Grognak suit stored in a workshop but I might have to dig it out lol

 

Just encountered two queen mirelurks in the last hour or so. Scary lol

 

As in real life, the kings are a pushover compared to the queens. There's reasons we don't fight women
