Man that gun is not even fair, sometimes I get too close and end up blowing my power arms off.
I tried the big boy last night and holy mother of god...and with the MIRV...shit.

LOL I hear that. This power armor business is an expensive one. However, any thoughts of expense are quickly replaced by glee during sustained trigger time and limbs and bodies start flying everywhere. Last night I discovered some location on the coastline that was filled with Raiders. That shottie + Ashmaker meant there were no complete bodies left to sift through.

Okay, now do you understand the fun I had using that MIRV Bad Boy at Covenant?

    FUN QUESTION

Does any name their weapons? Admittedly, I only edit the names with a "-" so that they appear first in my PipBoy menu. Sometimes it's hard getting my creative juices flowing.

Considering the crowd in here, I'm sure you good folks have come up with some goodies.

    Let's hear 'em!

I do the same thing. Not very creative, but they're all named "- Combat Rifle, - Combat Shotgun, etc." so they're listed first and I don't accidentally sell them.

Exactly. I'll shorten the name as needed but I for whatever reason I haven't given my weapons a pet name.

I've named a few "Midnight Special" and "BoomStick" but that's about it. I will usually just shorten the paragraph names.

Do you guys keep all your settlements going? So far I have the minimum mission requirements at Sanctuary, defenses at the farm, and have started working on the Castle. I am wondering if it's smarter to have them all functioning or are some not worth it?

I'm also wondering what the benefits are to building up your settlements?
So far I've found its good for growing crops to make food with and building does generate some XP. I guess you can also start to generate caps with shops once your settlement is large enough.

It seems like most of my friends that play the game just do the bare minimal as far as settlements go and only run the main quest lines. I've been doing everything I can to build them up as I go.

I have about 20 settlements now , about 1/2 dozen have minimal improvements / settlers , but the rest are at 18-23 settlers and have major improvements , shops and are all connected via trade routes

Benefits are crops and purified water to trade plus cap generation and places to get cheap ammo and weapons and if you like to avoid fast travel it gives you a safe place to go in each region of the map

Easiest way to get settlers? IE: I have the Castle but only have one settler and he's working the radio beacon. I'm assuming that will draw more people in? I am keeping all my bars in green as well.

Same thing happened to me when I played through my first time. The second time I played I put an additional settlement beacon on the outer wall toward the city and the castle filled up fast.

    No.

In the Castle you have to put up a standalone beacon just like at any other settlement. The existing tower / dishes there will NOT bring new settlers in.

You have to put up a radio beacon in any settlement you want to build it's own settlers or you can physically move settlers there from other settlements if you want to control the number of settlers in a given settlement

That ones for the radio freedom beacon. You have to make a settlement beacon.

I forgot there's actually 2 there. A t51 in the crate and I think half of an x01 inside the armory, but once that's accessed it triggers a sentry bot right outside.
