K , probably a dumb question but I can't figure it out so far

If I'm not wearing power armour and I kill somebody with power armour on , how can I steal the power armour and wear it right away ?

Just taking the pieces from them and trying to equip them in the PipBoy prompts a " you can only use this while wearing power armour " message

 

You can either pickpocket the fusion core or shoot the fusion core to disable the suit. Both will make the wearer exit the suit and both must be done while the NPC is alive. I don't believe there is a way to recover the frame after the character is dead.

 

This is correct.

 

Plus you can only add power armor TO a suit at a power armor crafting station. If you're wearing a nekkid frame and loot a t-60 torso, you need to go back to the powr armor crafting station to bolt it on the first time before it is 'equipped'

 

So if I stumble on someone with power armed I need to shoot the core off the back?
I don't sneak. lol.

 

Yep, use Jet or VATS to help and shoot the core.

 

Send your companion just behind them. They will usually turn towards the companion briefly. Once they have turned shoot the core in VATS. That's about all you need to know.

 

You need the power armor skeleton/frame. But I see it's already been answered. Carry on gentlemen.

 

So I got the perk where you can invest in your shops. How do you go about doing that?

 

It took me some time to figure this one out. When you approach one of your vendors and go into the "Barter" menu, there should be a quick key reference at the bottom that says "Invest." It was the last one on the right for me and was "Q" on PC, which is also the VATS key.

FYI investing in one shop per kind will effect all your shops in all settlements of that type , you don't need to do them all just one per shop type

How do you get your companion out of their power armor?

 

Command, talk, ask them go get out of their power armor.

 

This. The option replaced the 4th conversation option. You'll see it when you select "talk" in the conversation menu.

Ahh, ok. I was trying to see if it was in the conversation menu but I must have missed it. Piper and Hancock both ran off with power armor, lol.

 

I didn't even know you could put your companions in power armor. How do you do that? Lol

 

Just point to them to talk, then point at a set of power armor. I usually have to point towards the legs to get the menu to show up. I run around with a power armor companion and give them a stunning super sledge. Needless to say, nothing has stopped us so far, lol.
