It's a new story in Halo. It wasn't going to sit well with fans anyways. One of the main characters had to die off because cannon basically dictated they were going to die soon anyways. That's one of the weirdest/best parts of Fallout. While there is a story and all the games are linked by it, because of the time periods between each game they are able to do far different things with some familiar and some unfamiliar things which makes each game unique. Other than 1 and 2, each game has pretty much been a stand alone game that you could sit down and understand they story just as well as someone whose played all the fall out games.

Sorry, I'm talking about Operation Anchorage. It was basically a stand alone mini game to me with the fallout engine. While it was cool to see some of the Alaskan Invasion it didn't really add to Fallout 3 for me and that made me sad. At least Point Lookout was a stand alone that added to the game and the time period. Broken Steel was bad ass. I still remember when you first get the rail gun (I meant Tesla Cannon, but I'll leave what I first called it because that's what I thought it was) how OP it is. Too bad I didn't have any major points on my energy skills when I got to that point so for the first bit it wasn't nearly as cool. I never played Mothership Zeta because it didn't seem to matter much.

Operation Anchorage was only good for obtaining Jingwei's Sword and the Stealth Armor, cause that shit rocked. Mothership Zeta was good for caps because if you went through the whold DLC overencombered picking up lasers, biogel, crystals and cannons you rake in over 50,000 caps after sales. Plus you can get Samurai Armor.

True, but I was so addicted to Lincolns Repeater that I rarely used anything else. Well sometimes the Fat Man in VATS when I needed a laugh. Nothing like hitting a random vendor with the MIRV version and watching shit literally fly.

TBH If I had some time to go play Fallout 3 now that I am talking about it I'd go back and play the DLC's I didn't want to when they came out, just to get my fresh fallout fix.

I plan on getting the anthology once my PC is built. It will include all games up to 4 and have all the DLC's for 3 and New Vegas. For $50 it's a steal. Plus a mini nuke.

That mininuke is pretty cool, would look great on the desk. I'd likely wear that battery out quick if it was within reach. Everytime Maya crashed I'd be hitting that thing.

Started my new PC build last night. Just ordered a case and motherboard for now but should be done by the time Fallout 4 is released. Going to be well over $1000  when done. But should be good for a long time and will leave consoles in the dust. Also got Skyrim Ultimate Edition for free cause of rebate. Hopefully by the time I need to order CPU and GPU the prices will have dropped some or maybe there will be a rebate.

Sadly i havent been seeing the CPU prices drop at all in the last couple months...even with Skylake being released. I actually am upgrading my PC right now too! Got to reuse a few components to save money.

    I went with a

I5-4960k (will OC a bit with my hyper 212 plus, which i have already)
Saphire R9 290 Vapor-X (should be able to oc a bit)
MSI Gaming 5 mobo (got a killer deal which pushed me to do this now)
    32gb Ripjaw Ram (4x8gb stick...had already)
Thermaltake 750 gold semi modular PSU
    NZXT fan controller
Antec 900 case (had this for YEARS now)
    Logitech G502 mouse
    Logitech G15 keyboard (have)
two new Acer 23" 1080p monitors.
    kingston V300 96gb SSD (have)
    1tb WD HDD (have already)

I would have gone with skylake if i didnt already have the ram. But i that saved a hundred bucks or so. Plus the Mobo i got for 30 bucks so saved a bunch there.

I dont game all that much anymore so Im fine with not getting the "top of the line" or newest of the new. I know this setup will play FO4 just fine. And coming from an i3-540 with a 6950 GPU it should be a huge improvement!

I have been using my PS3, but don't want to go the console route anymore. Here is a pic of the CPU's from my first two builds

as you can see they are pretty old. 1999 baby!

Edit: Case and MB arrived yesterday. Holiday overtime needs to get here quick or else I'm going to go on a pb & j diet and use my bar food and beer money. Exciting, married 16 years and this is my life. :ballchain:

Considering the graphics and gameworld size, I'd plan on 20+GB as an absolutely basement minimum. I'm planning closer to 50 on my SSD.

If your buddy or office has a decent connection, sure. I have a feeling they'll throw plenty of resources (i.e. bandwidth and such) at this bad boy for a smooth release....there's way too much at stake for such a big title to skimp on pipes, and they bloody well know it.

Steam has always been good even on the day 1 bandwidth size. On the Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid 5 release days i watched a couple streamers and they were downloading it full speed soon as it released with no problem.

But yes i would plan for 20+ gb
