There is no reason to ever overestimate AMD.
AMD has been so far behind Intel, that if it was a jet race Intel's contrails would have disappeared by the time AMD is in the same piece of sky.

The last 4 machines I built had AMD CPUs.
Now that my biggest CPU requirement is for Handbrake (video encoding) its FP math and Intel all the way. I went with an i7-5820K.

Hmm, true in the last decade but before that AMD had the lead. This is the first time AMD has shown a practical demonstration using a 3rd party set of evaluation software designed to evaluate both single and multi core where AMD held their own and actually overall "won" the testing.

AMD took a big gamble going back all the way to the drawing board and jumping right to 14nm lithography. I hope it pays off for all of us, both intel users and AMD alike.

On another note actually more related to this thread I finished the vault quests. How long does it take to start getting more vault residents? Do I need to do anything special to attract them? One left because I microwaved her brain, am I screwed?

 

First quarter 2017. Then we will know for sure when 3rd party testers get to play with it.

Lots of rumors around intels 10 nm lithography not working out due to quantum effects as well. This could be an interesting few years .

 

If you mean Vault 88, just give it time. All my other settlements are at CHA-cap pops. But the Vault is in the upper 30s now.

But a lot of storefronts and other happiness stuff, FYI. Slot machines, workout equipment, etc. And make sure you assign people to them.

 

Yup, I'm talking about Vault 88. It was about 3 hours of fun lol. It's a bit weird though that the cave is so massive and yet the build cap is so low. Just my normalish sized vault in the main build area has nearly maxed things out.

K, good so people will keep coming. I just wanted to make sure microwaving that chicks brain didn't become an issue later on.

 

Did you unlock all the other build areas? I think they add to the cap, because I have got a pretty good sized two story build across the entire main cavern and I'm barely over half

Hmm. It could be, but as I'm running no mods right now, I doubt it.

 

I am not sure, I think there is a signal, but if you have 4 people doing nothing, then others wont come to a settlement, and the vault counts as a settlement I think.

I actually stopped with F4, and have been having tons of fun in F3. Up to level 15 or so. Having fun with a few quests and getting the skill books I want for sneak/guns/repair/medicine/unarmed/melee.

 

Level 125 now

Just hit 83 on this run.

Gave the bottling plant to the Operators, and Kiddy World to the Pack. Just getting into Dry Rock Gulch or whatever it's called now.

Friggin' bloodworms are a PITA to hit all right. My best so far is VATS + a plasma pistol, been oneshotting them at range fairly regularly. Less than a 20ish % miss rate due to collision/LOS blocking

 

I'm surprised there's no cap. With fallout 3 I think it went to 50 and then each dlc raised it by 5.

 

I've seen a couple guys slapdick level themselves far enough to get every single perk point on every single perk on the chart....260-some levels IIRC

 

I think you can get all perks plus all stats to 10 at Level 256 IIRC
