    I hate that the bayonet:

    A) Uses up AP.
    B) Doesn't do even close to the damage of the gun itself after it's well modded.

Those two things make it silly to me to even swing the bayonet rather than just reload and hammer the enemy in close via VATS once you have leveled up your weapon.

Well the baseball bat is the only melee weapon with more than 2 mods. But all they do is increase damage. Melee weapons still only do around 70 dmg (sledgehammer) which is low imo even with a 2x hit on full health enemies its not very much. The concept is fun for smashing heads off but they need to put more into it for it to be enetertaining/viable

I like the bayonet vs ghouls because it kills them usually one hit and is silent

Just blow off one of their legs with a silenced weapon.

More than I'd like usually ghouls sneak up on me because you can't shoot the "dead" ones lying around and trust that they won't resurrect once the game decides to do so.

I didn't either until I started from scratch on my second go around. That thing is a beast when you wind it up.

That's one of the things I enjoy about restarting completely. A lot gets missed the first time.

I don't mind the bayonet especially with a hair trigger or auto receiver, gives you good combo technique.

    Yep.

I played to around 27 or 28 with my first toon, to figure out how shit works. Restarted, am now I think 57 or 58. Will do a bunch more side quests and mapping, then I'll restart at least two more times so I can go through the BoS and Institute sides. (Poss spoiler: Neither the Brotherhood of Steel or the Institute are a thing any more. I went with the railroad and WTFBITCHSLAP both of them into itty bits, though I'll not get into the details)

I do a 5K run/walk before lunch every day, hoss. Out on the lakefront. It's gorgeous. I've got "farmers' tan" lines from hell.

Come on up to OKC some time (if your parents/parole officer will let you leave the state unsupervised) and take a run with me at the park, if'n you'd like.

    Not really.

I just get a tired of the old "Get out of yer mom's basement" jokes. I bust my ass and run circles around most kids half my age and I'm damned proud of it. The only 'yer mom' in here is I picked her up at the bar last week and shot a wad on her jacket out back. Tell her thanks and I'll pick up the dry cleaning tab next time ;)

In my own defense I never pointed you out in particular, you just took it that way. I don't recall talking about mothers and basements either.

Just saying you treat the game and the thread like a dick measuring contest lmfao.

    I do?

I play it for fun. I screenshot some things I see in-game that I hadn't seen here and post about them. I wasn't aware that was dick measuring.

If I start doing THAT and post pics of it, you'll know!
