Do you have to preorder the game to play the beta?

 

I got the email saying I was selected, so far the code does nothing. My guess it will have to be entered the day of the test. FAQ really didn’t clear it up.

 

Dammit means I got to sack up now.

 

Boo on Bethesda's preference for XBox, but if that's your platform please let us know your thoughts!

 

I didn't even know about the YouTube folks getting ahold of the game early. Shows just how far behind I am.

Still don't know the lasting appeal on this. I mean, with 100% online play now for a RPG, I don't know how much of the storyline will remain true to the single player or deviate totally.

People in real life suck lol so in a game, you'll encounter douchbags around every corner and unless you bump into a team oriented playuer, it will be survival mode for the most part.

I've wasted most of my adult life on Fallout/Morrowind but on the fence for FO-76. I think I'll wait for some user reviews first.

 

All things considered...Im pretty excited for this game! Since Im also moving to AZ, I feel like I might grow closer to the fall out series with becoming a desert rat.

You're right, but I'm selfish and petulant and want my FO:5 first.

 

I pre-ordered it. I was not convinced but ive watched a number of videos , some 3 hours long, on game play of Fallout 76 at an Invite only Bethesda event they had for content creators.

You can play solo if you wish, just you might run into other people.. there is no shortage of quests. You pick up quests by reading printouts, Listening to the holotapes that are like everywhere apparently , checking bodies and basically exploring. Its not the traditional go see NPC quest giver as we are used to. Im open to trying something different. Im not really jazzed on the online all the time aspect but i can deal with it. Some content is group only but thats expected in this type of game.. im going to try out some of the group missions.

If you are not liking PVP play after level 5 PVP is unlocked. BUT you can activate a pacifist mode so you dont harm other players and become a target and if another player is trying to grief you they do really tiny amounts of damage .. like 40x less damage if you dont fight back. The second you fight back damage goes to normal. PLUS people who kill innocents"become marked for other players to hunt.

One Youtuber said something i found intriguing from a RP standpoint. Because Fallout has always been about the Lone wanderer kind of gameplay role playing mindset.. multiplayer for some wrecks that RP element. BUT This one chap stated with the absence of NPC's to interact with.. if you are running/questing alone.. the world you are in feels rather lonely and desolate. That alone makes the Post apocalyptic world feel more what i would actually expect to happen, Realistic for lack of another way of putting it.

Ill make the final decision if i keep or i get a refund when the Beta drops Oct 30th for PC.
