Yeah... LC might be a bit out of my budget. Would likely end up with an LX if anything.

Plenty of Sequoias locally. Might just have to go try one in person.

Read through the thread. Great stuff. How are you liking the 470? I'm trying to convince myself that I don't need anything bigger than that, but at the same time, I've convinced myself that if I'm getting a 3-row, may as well get something full sized. Which is in stark contrast to why I got my 1st gen taco in the first place...

if you need a three row, get something bigger than the 470. i have a 460 and the third row is basically not usable unless you are a very small child - and even in that case, when it is up, there is NO trunk space. i decided to keep my 460 but got a Yukon XL too and it is awesome. totally worth it if you have a big family or carry a lot of stuff.

Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. I'm thinking I need space for the dog, 1-2 car seats (kids in near future, none yet), and an in-law or two. Plus enough cargo space for the yearly road trip to visit family.

i was in the exact same boat as you. i have one kid, one on the way and my parents always ride with us to dinner, trips, etc. the gx470 and 460 are great rides, but just lack the space needed to be a true family hauler.

i would have gotten a minivan, but wanted something that can tow and has 4wd. ive never been a big GM guy but got a good deal on a yukon coming off a lease with some low miles. i also looked at ford expeditions. once you look at these full-size SUVs, its hard to even imagine driving something smaller.

    good luck with your search!

Thanks! Sounds like it's just time to find some local examples of these options and try them out.

Not quite a 1st gen taco, but I had a 3rd gen. Had a baby and swapped over to a Tundra CrewMaxxx. Definitely has the same feel as the taco except bigger and doesnt hunt for gears. Also gets me better mpgs on the highway. With 1 kid I could technically have the taco and be fine, but the CrewMaxxx brings so much more comfort. We can fit all her toys, chairs, diaper bag and even stroller inside. Its also big enough to bring her as well as her grandparents comfortably.

Just remember, opt for the bigger engine. If you get the smaller option you’re gonna burn a lot more gas.

For some reason I have this weird mental hurdle about full sized pickups that I don't have for SUVs.

Stoked on the gx470 coming up on two years of ownership. One down side is the NAV and finding a decent aftermarket replacement, it’s a whole thing with the nav option.

other than than it meets our needs. As others mentioned if ya stick with the 3row space is limited, but easy removal and reinstall. FYI, 460 does have bucket seat option.

Just gotta figure out what’s right for you, your bank account and family etc. Good luck.
