    66 years ago today, 5 Marines and 1 Navy Corpsmen raised the flag on top of Mt. Suribachi.

    They didn't pose for a picture, they were in the process of putting up a second, larger flag and that moment was captured on film.
    That wasn't the end of the battle, three of those Marines were killed before it was all over.

    Same here......and we laid him to rest today. They did the 21 gun salute and played "taps". It was very emotional.
