I can’t find a 9 volt battery to check. I’ll buy one tomorrow I guess or just buy a new relay if they’re not too expensive. My Toyota dealership can’t see me and doesn’t have a loaner car until Thursday, but I work a 12 hr shift that day so that doesn’t work. Would rather learn to fix it myself if possible. I really appreciate your help!! I’ll see about the relay and let you know. Just saw your other reply. I’ll buy one:) (a DMM)

Can you verify for me that the fuse that has done it's job various times now is indeed the 7.5A and not the 10A IG1 No.2. They are next to each other and the 10A provides juice to the Heater blower relay coil.

The 10A keeps blowing after I replace it - 7.5A right above it is not blown

    Ha!
When you can, take a look under the rear bumper, the other circuit that fuse feeds is there. Check the harness for damage.

There’s another fuse box under the rear bumper?? :ohsnap: I just took a quick look. It’s 11:40 pm here and I’d have to lay in snow to give it a good look lol!

Nope, a harness that gets juice from same fuse that keeps blowing. Verify for frayed insulation and/or busted connectors.

Ok I’ll take a look tomorrow! So what you’re saying is that if one of these harnesses has a broken wire or is compromised that could be shorting out my 10A fuse creating the problem right? Is it strange that when I replace the 10A fuse the lights come on on the display but they don’t move and the fan doesn’t work (first pic- stuck on the temp and fan setting) Then I turn the truck off and back on and the display turns off again and won’t turn back on unless I replace the fuse. (Last pic)

Could be a loose or frayed wire that goes to ground and pops the fuse. If you have the parking sensors and/or the cross traffic sonar sensors on the edges of the rear bumper, the harness to it gets juice from that fuse. You could disconnect the harness and test the A/C. If it still stays the same then the A/C system has an issue with that fuse.

Thank you!! You’ve been so helpful when Toyota, Lordco and Canadian Tire -no surprise- were totally useless or unwilling to help! It’s so cold here. I can’t drive with the windows down but if I don’t, I fog up and can’t see. So it’s really important to fix this fast! Until then I’m going to try to use a hair dryer to defog by plugging it into my outlet in the truck bed with an extension cord into the cab through the back window

Ok I’m on my way to get a DMM. If this relay is not working and I can find another one should that be all that’s wrong? I’m hoping Lordco has them in stock so I’ll just test it in the parking lot

All of the wiring and harnesses at the rear bumper are intact and inside the protective casing

I got a reading of 160 Ohms on the DMM so I guess it’s not that! :(

Oh! Which wire exactly? I looked at all of them and they looked ok but I didn’t do anything crazy like take apart the protective black plastic wrap. Is/was your heated seats out as well?

this is a big deal for me as there is another winter storm happening right now. It’s bucketing snow right now and I’m freezing with the windows cracked to keep the windows from fogging and now heat! :help:

when you say will run with a 15amp do you mean you swapped the 10A for the IG1 fuse for a 15A?

Oh I see… What year is yours?
My wires definitely don’t look like that. My BSM system stopped working about a year ago as well, and they’re apparently involved in the wiring back there but it would seem strange the dealership said it would cost $1600 for a part for it and hours of labour is it was just a wiring harness/issue.
