Fan speed knob

My son put on the aluminum covers that are colored. When removing the from fan speed control knob on his 2018 he must have broken something because now the knob spins freely and won’t click through the speeds. I’ve googled this and can find nothing to try and fix or replace that knob.

 

If you can’t fix the knob yourself, you’ll probably have to replace the whole control unit. Check online parts sites to confirm, I could be wrong.

 

if you cant tell if its broke by looking at the knob and where the knob goes then seek professional help

This is for my 2019, as you can see there are various models listed based on color, auto climate control, etc. ranging from $500 to nearly $750. That fancy deco gonna cost you unfortunately, unless you repair or find one from auto recycler.

Does the shaft without the knob on work? Does it click properly without the knob on? Maybe the splines on the knob have been damaged. If so then you can probably jury rig something to make the knob fit tightly on the shaft. Something as simple as wrapping the shaft with some plumbers tape or use a couple thin pieces of material such as tooth picks inside the knob.
