FAQ: When will I get my Drifter? How long are people waiting?

All these campers getting rolled out has me feeling optimistic again!!!

 

They resent my final invoice Thursday night. Same as they sent 4 months ago. Order #166. If you're going to ask for thousands of more dollars it would be nice to get some kind of explanation as to when to expect a "final" camper.

 

Check the link above. There are only 9 in front of you and back on 6/21 four were reported to be on the floor when Langford picked his up.

 

If anyone is interested, or knows of anyone looking, we are putting our Drifter up for sale. Currently it is mounted on a 3rd gen 6' bed Tacoma and located I'm San Diego, CA.

Added info for spot #164 on the spreadsheet

 

That spreadsheet only shows what other people have added themselves. There are other people who aren’t on TW or don’t know about the spreadsheet unfortunately so not all orders are on there.

 

Yeah… I’m going by last known delivered. As far as I’m concerned, we are still on #153. Those four could have been 146, 149, etc. Don’t have the spreadsheet open but you get what I mean.

Optimistically it’s 15.

 

Just responded to the invoice. I asked if my camper will go into production on 9/20 (when my final payment is due) and stated that if that wasn't the go-to-production date, I'd be more comfortable paying the remaining balance once they are prepared to begin producing my camper. Doesn't hurt to ask.

 

Andddd heard back. Sounds like a bigggg batch of campers are going into production - and they've got most of the materials to build them on hand already. Estimated late September for me. I'll believe it when I see it, we all know how those estimates have gone, but hey... something to believe is better than nothing!

 

Is 9/20 your due date for invoice?

Ah good point. I assumed the year was just in there wrong as it was a month to the day when I received it (8/20/2021). Assumed I had a month to pay lol - it is the date I purchased.

 

Anyone hear from VO? Been ~3 weeks and is now ~1 week from what I heard from Phil...

 

Was talking to him about my build 2 weeks ago.

Sounds like they're expanding into a bigger area and someone mentioned they started a big batch? Sounds like a busy time for em

I emailed last week about my build (#166). Phil said it was in process, and should be 6 weeks out.

I'm not sure if I believe him, but it's fun to pretend it'll be done soon! More likely it'll be 3 more months.

 

Well I'm 176 and I'm a little more optimistic than that so just be happy you're 166 haha

 

My bad. 3 weeks since the last post/when I heard from Phil and posted here. I also asked a question in the email thread where I paid my second half. Never got a response to it.

Phil said the batch would be done end of September and off to powder coating, which would be when I hear from them next, which would be roughly a week from now. Since I am 15-20 builds away I assumed we would be hearing more updates from people with some progress.

Sounds like I got another optimistic estimate. Just trying to figure out when I need to put a freaking vacation request in to go pick this thing up. This forum is a lifeline to me remaining connected to the insane amount of money I spent lol

 

I too asked Phil when I paid my second half, no response. I'm hopeful for this year still.
