www.martinor.com make a few - he has DCSB and DCLB drifter racks - really like mine. may not be advertised on the site - best to email him. can’t put much up there but super helpful in headwinds

https://martinor.com/ He worked with me on the sides. This will allow a table to be installed under the overhang.

I definitely need this for gas cans and fire wood storage like you.

    https://martinor.com/shop/foundation-camper-rack

Is this the one you have? How do they know which camper you have? A Drifter and GFC overhang is different so then the shorty rack length would be different also? You have a short bed Tacoma just like I do.

Also, I do not have that much space under the overhang as you do. I put in Relentless bed caps and got rails of those plastic OEM pieces that crush under the load of the drifter. Are you on OEM bed rails?

And 3rd gens, the drifter sits higher because the bed is taller.

Email Gage at Martin, let him know what you have, what you want and he will hook you up. Super responsive and will work with you to get it done like you want it. I have a long bed and standard bed rails. Wanted to install the front runner prep table. Gage hooked me up with the GFC side rails and the rest is the Drifter rack. The rack is great! I did add molding to the leading edge of the wind deflector and that really helped reduce wind noise. I have a frontrunner jerry can mount, I also have a diesel can mount for winter, I made the little box to hold trash, and wood.

How wide is your rack? Guessing 6-12 inches?

This is all super good info but I think it would be better in the normal Drifter FAQ page. I think it’ll be of better use there.

So when I was at Vagabond Saturday I didn't spend too much time there, I got out of their hair while they were installing but as everyone says Jay and Phil are super nice and the quality of the camper is just downright amazing. They've made rear handles stock as well so future campers will have those.

I didn't see a camper will a tern door @Swatdude1 so assuming that must be at PC. There were 5 other fully done campers all black, one with a black/green/white combo. Then about the same number of campers at various stages of the build. Phil said they're now starting to place bigger part orders, and as soon as my camper leaves they pull the parts and start building another.

Has anyone else heard from them? All the completed campers were having their wind breaks for the fans set while I was there so I assume thats very close to the end of production for many.

I heard from Phil last week saying they were waiting on my Tern window which was supposed to be there that week. Haven’t been contacted yet to arrange an install date yet but I’d imagine soon.

Can you post some photos of your handle? I'm wondering if it's the 80/20 black plastic one or a metal one like the smooth rounded door handle some others have used from McMaster Carr / eBay.

    It's DLX son!
It looks like the black plastic 80/20 handle. Stoked it's standard now.

    Plastic and super solid.

I can say that it feels fucking weird actually having the camper. My girlfriend has only known me as a guy who is waiting for a some mystical camper and she came with to pick it up and now jokes that she doesn't even know who I am now.

Did anyone get a serial number with their camper? Need one to get it properly insured

My insurance wanted the same. You can easily get a number plate with your Drifter ID (just match your Invoice/receipt) and then drill and rivet it somewhere inside on a non-removable panel.

About the handle, I really hope it is UV stable. Plastic and anodized aluminum colors don't last long out here in Colorado. I may still just install a metal one to avoid the potential issue.

    Lets go Team Vagabond!!!

And that plastic handle is the beez knees!! I’ll change my mind on that when I hit my head on it though

I’m 164 and no news if its in production (I doubt since it’s the first 8’ model). Only thing I’m worried about is I told Phil to get pricing on a 180° awning for me - I hope he doesn’t just add it without letting me know the cost.

I have not. I reach out a couple weeks ago... I'm just hoping I have it before March 21 as I'm headed to Sedona. Did you see a black drifter with FR doors, 270 degree awning and scene lights?

I think so yeah. I can't imagine how that couldn't be one of them. You should reach out again.

I'm not sure how or why I was getting replies. Shits weird

He gave me several options/brands and costs and had me confirm I wanted to add mine fwiw.

Haven’t heard anything about mine yet. Suspect they are waiting on the aforementioned awning. Can’t get down there til April at the earliest so no rush at this point. Still gotta wrap a few projects, mainly waterproofing too.

Man, I kinda wish they would limit some of these third party options as it seems to add time to builds. With the back log of campers that just makes sense to me.

I dunno. Seems like a slippery slope. There are windows that are objectively better. Max air fans are all but essential. Technically powder coating is third party, etc. I have the ability to add awning brackets myself but trust the guys who are building these 100+ times to do it over myself.

Think when space was at a premium in their shop, maybe? But now it’s just a matter of working on other campers until the parts come in.
