That's a little dramatic. Omicron has relegated Covid to flu status. My guess is they would be back up in a week.

Can you please just wait until I get my 99% complete camper before imploding everyone who is close???? There is nothing fraudulent going on. You bought a spot from someone else and I'm assuming VO was not part of that transaction. Can everyone just take a deep breath and chill?

Seriously. If you can't contain yourself, go look at a GFC then you'll remember why you're waiting.

VO was part of the transaction. Claiming 12 months and going on 3 years with no communication is fraudulent. They are lying about lead times and not delivering products. I’m supposed to be “close” too but that doesn’t mean anything.

Super Pacific is a 5 month build time. 500 deposit, 70 percent when your build starts, balance due on pick up. No "pay up front and wait for 2 years."

Okay children, we literally have this argument every couple months when people are antsy. We’re all here because we want a Drifter even if it’s painful and the VO guys suck at communicating. If you want another camper, you are free to look elsewhere.

Yep, we can go through all of the other options again...
SuperPacific "4-season" camper leaks in the rain and is hard to close in the snow when the water and ice in the extrusion blocks the lid from getting close enough to the body to latch...

GFC has a smaller bed (and more issues, some of which were fixed from V1 to V2).

AluCab is a different (heavier) product with wasted space between the rear of the cab and the camper body due to their "universal" design with fit kits.

AT products are more than $5k premium for their base build and heavier as well.

Treehouse, Harker, OVRLND and others look more DIY than a finished product ready for market.

And so on. Back to talking about when will I get my Drifter/Nomad - Vagabond specific chat. We have many other threads for all the other products as well as individuals posting new threads comparing the options for their intended uses.

Judging by the recent pictures of the current batch, it does appear that the pace has picked up on the amount of campers being built. The last of the campers from the last batch rolled out April-May and it looks like the current batch of ~10 is pretty damn close to being complete. I know your guys’ frustration, I was there myself not long ago and probably complained on this thread the most during the last part of my wait, but I promise you it’s worth it. I know it’s tiring to hear but it’s true. The last part was the hardest, knowing my camper was in the current batch but not knowing when it would be complete. I get it. Domino effect on everyone else waiting if you pull the plug prematurely, y’all have waited this long already..

A lil this a lil that.
They had one (a super pacific) involved in a crash and from the photos it did not look salvageable. VO has had a couple crashes and they’ve come out great.

And a tarp & some posts could be picked up tonight and built with zero lead time, $0 deposit. Your point? These are different products and quality. I don’t see the relevancy. Yeah, the wait time sucks but I also don’t have to worry about water intrusion etc. when I take my Drifter out. I’d rather wait longer for a more well built product, more options, etc.

Ooh haha. Was just trying to make a point. Just because people are able to get a camper made out of Tupperware sooner than a Drifter doesn’t always mean it’s the better option.

But if I need a 10 mm wrench and I have to wait 3 years for the snap on, harbor frieght wrenches start to look appealing.

100%. But in this case we’re talking investing thousands of dollars into a product so it’s just a tad different in this case. Most people aren’t in the situation where they can order a camper to hold themselves over until their VO is ready so it’s one or the other. In the long run, I think you’d be happier waiting longer for a superior product in this case. Everyone is free to make their own decision on which camper to go with, but when people who likely have no intention of buying a Drifter jump on the thread saying “Well xyz camper only takes this long” when they’re a completely different construction, material, etc. doesn’t really help. I waited the wait, I know the frustration, but I’m glad I waited out for the Drifter.

    Tarps… those were the days.

Good thing I finally got a drifter. Infinitely better than a tarp.

You all need to stop complaining. I once ordered a table saw from the dealer that was expected in 2 months but it took a whole 6!

While I agree and appreciate the sentiment and support of us wayward souls, my honest-to-god fear right now is VO quietly filing bankruptcy and us all losing our (considerable amount of) down payments without any recourse.

So few orders coming out can't be sustainable while paying for 2 shop spaces and I ain't seeing any 2022 orders on that spreadsheet. I mean, please, tell me my fears are unfounded - because I called my credit card company last week and I'm outside the window for a chargeback too.
