A first gen may have saved my life, and the life of a pregnant woman too. I am first gen. My Tahoe may have done that too. Totaled? Maybe. My S-10? Thank god I was not in that.

If anyone has any extra info on this VIN that google doesn't easily pull up that would be VERY helpful.

That VIN is not complete and I hate to break it to ya, but when I ordered a rear axle housing from Toyota they still had to ask it I needed one with or without a locker because the VIN couldn't nail it down. How's that for a run on sentence.

    .
My guess is insurance company will try to pay minimum claim ... and then try to part it out for as close to or more than the claim pay out.

Just a guess ... but have seen this with several high resale (and good parts) vehicles lately.

That doesnt seem like a fair offer, I'd fight it (I havent read most of the thread). A couple years ago, I traded my 03 xcab 4x4 trd w 160k miles for 10.5k. Probably could have gotten more on a private sale. Best of luck to you, I wouldnt take their first offer. And sorry if its been resolved since im too lazy to read more of the thread.

Not enough. If they fix the last obvious issues and their math adds up I'll sign. It will not be cheap.

I'm working on my new plates when I win this:

    1TGN4ER --- first gen forever
1TGB4LF --- first gen for life.
TOTLTAC --- Totaled Tacoma. *i like this one.

Any help with that would be very much appreciated.

Every time I see this thread, all I can think of are really angry farmers with a passionate distaste of Tacomas.

    How about TTLDTAC?
    Or STLWRKS.

It appears I'm getting nearly $4300 and keeping my title. Make no mistake I'm still getting ripped off. It's a whole lot better than where they started at, $2300 with a branded title.

Yeah, I can fix it with that. The clock milkers and Dealer Collision can't.

I just got 3400$ for bedside damage, taillight and a bumper on my 96. I think you're not getting anywhere near what you should be getting

I got a company truck today. I washed it and had it's oil changed on the companies dime. I like this. I could ride a motorcycle to work now, or a Camaro. I haven't been able to do that since I was a teenager. I miss my Camero.

My Taco will always have a spot in my driveway. It can loose the ladder rack now, and all my heavy tools. This makes me happy.
