    Hey everyone!

I have a 2016 TRD sport tacoma with 130,000km on it. I took it into the shop about 4 months ago for problems such as a diesel sounding engine, minor lack of power , idle shake , poor fuel, seems like it has a hard time keeping a constant speed (sputtering kind of ?), and the most annoying of all THIS ENGINE CHIRP!! The chirp at first was self diagnosed from tacoma world as the fuel pump due to another member having a similar issue however this noise seems to be getting louder and the truck sounds like its running rough again. The shop I took it to was brain dead on the concept of Tacomas and prior to even researching into it they had taken apart my fuel injector system only to find out the tacoma has 2 , as well giving a brief summary that the reason it was doing this was because of the timing belt which the tacoma has a chain. Through process of elimination it is not either of those and they sent me on my way with no truck for 2 days and a hefty 500$ bill with only an oil change to show for it. Was guided to all the fellow taco owners of this site to help me deep dive and hopefully avoid having to cough up any more money for no answers.

***SPARK PLUGS ARE ALSO FINE **
Also mentioning the other day after I had put gas in the exhaust was puffing and somewhat stuttering

Is your truck part of the fuel pump recall from awhile back, maybe a year or two ago? If you go here, Welcome to Toyota Owners , and create an account you should be able to find out if your truck has a recall.

Sounds like you need to visit a modern shop, lol. Could be fuel related. Someone would need to check codes, OBD live data, and maybe measure fuel pressure. In short, you need a good tech.
