I have been coordinating with a fellow TW member overseas in order to do a group buy of a Third Gen "faux" TRD Pro skid plate for a Toyota Tacoma. Cost is considerably less than retail. I'm looking for a total of 6 members that want to get in on this 5th round group buy. I am located in St. Thomas so the units would be shipped to me and then we would need to figure out the logistics of pickup or delivery once received.
Note, these units are NOT the crappy ones that are being peddled on E-bay and Amazon.

I would need at least 4 pre-paid orders before I would order 6 units. Currently they are listed at Toyota for $595.

Is the oil filter access hole in the right place for the 3.5 litre North American engine?

Looks like the same position as the OEM version based on skid plate in this video...

It means you need to remove the whole plate to change the oil? How much does it weigh?

Was actually just looking at OEM one now. $300 here at the dealership local to me. I’d be interested in price is right.

edit: Disregard. I'm in the states lol so i'd imagine shipping would be insane

    Hello, everyone
So I would like to clear up some possible confusion and provide some info regarding this SkidPlate.

So this is a "Faux Tacoma TRD Pro Skidplate", not a Hilux skidplate. I came across this Skid Plate, because I was initially looking for the Hilux's skid plate, which lead me to finding this faux Tacoma TRD Pro skid plate.

As for the Access Panel, it allows you to change oil without taking out the entire plate. Just like the OEM TRD Pro Skid Plate. BUT it shares the same flaw as the OEM Skid Plate. The OIL filter is slightly offset to the drivers side, meaning the only way to unscrew the oil filter cap is to use a strap type wrench, because the opening is not big enough to easily slip in an Oil Filter "Socket". This is a design flaw with the real plate also. So made my assumptions based on one experience, and a couple of other post here. The oil filter is accessible with an oil filter wrench with an extension, though it can be tight.

    How much does it weight?
Like 12kg. It is made of 1/4" Aluminium.
    Powder Coated in TRD Grey.

Per locale, 5 orders are needed to get the bulk shipping rate. The cost of shipping is different per destination.

Per locale, there has to be someone designated to receive the 5 Skid Plates.

I am current doing this with @oostroma first. Since this is my first time, and working out the logistics.
So he is looking for interested Canadian buyers to get things started.
