With those of us with DRL, they supply an added module, but where would you tuck this away and how would it with stand the elements...thats my main concern...

    upload_2018-5-10_14-7-17.jpg

And if you're going after market, these seem cooler for the same price due to the fact there is no added module for DRL and the DRL doubles as an amber sequential signal, then super white other wise for the same price, and also blacked out:

    http://www.topgearautosport.com/par..._DRL_Projector_Headlights_Dynamic_Signal.html

    And another:
    https://www.ebay.com/p/Black-2016-2017-Toyota-Tacoma-TRD-Sequential-LED-Square-Projector-Headlights/2230288641?iid=202050757234&_trkparms=aid=555018&algo=PL.SIM&ao=2&asc=50544&meid=f1e6e971c11b42acac6665107a2d52fc&pid=100005&rk=2&rkt=12&mehot=ag&sd=282602818020&itm=202050757234&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

    Aaaanndd another, even cheaper:

Or if you want to stick with the same as the OP, depo has these as well, for less (if you don't have DRL):

I think that entire module gets set aside and bypassed. Hence the cutting of wires they reference if you already have factory LED DRL.

What I don't get is why similar 'Depo' headlights without the module go for $1200+ on ebay. The LED strip is a take it or leave it thing with me. I keep it off and it's only on when the lights are on.

Those lights you linked are H7 bulb required and if I remember right, the housing has a sealed cap on the back side which limits what bulb style you can run (no LED). Especially since I already invested in LED bulbs, I'd like to reuse them so the Depo units are better for me.

I used Depo headlights in my old Evo and they worked fine without any extra sealent applied.

Those depo ones you linked seem to be replacements where I think these lights are either providing the LED Strip upgrade for the models that dont have an LED strip to begin with OR the black look for the models that have the led strip where the module or wiring is bypassed cuz of those 3 wires OP mentions

I think its overall preference, if you want your taco to have a similar OE look maybe these depos are the way to go. The other styles seem like a reach or even an audi type but on a taco.
    imo

The ebay ones in second link dont appear to be the same as mine if you zoom in there is no drl strip which is the hole purpose an sr5 would want to upgrade.

I remember seeing these a few months back but nobody had left a review on them yet. thanks for posting up your feedback. Maybe some of you other guys can chime in too when you receive yours. I had run Depo on some of my other cars in the past and was very happy with them.

So the Depo instructions have you cut the DRL plug off of your OEM headlights to splice them onto the Depo units.

It appears in your photo you just tapped into the existing wiring, but left the connector intact? Down the road this would definitely be something I'm adding to the truck, but I'd prefer not to hack up the factory wiring if possible.

I'm not usually a fan of replicas, but the Pro headlamps out far, far too pricey. For $1,500+ they should be OEM LED / HID, so these are a good compromise.

Honestly i wouldnt be concerned mine are shrinkwrapped and appear to be factory the way they were done. You could always add watertight shrinkproof male/female connectors to trucks drl wires and new kit so if u swap back to original u wouldnt again have to cut/splice. To me this wasnt an issue.

Yes just around the shell where the lens and the housing attach. I used some clear silicone from my local hardware store.

I was quoted $85 for just the taillights :annoyed: The price of the taillights good at $179.95 with a discount of $26.99. Shipping killed it for me, I'm in Hawaii
