Mods, do your thing if it is.

What is/are your favorite books? List 'em with a with a description.
Atlas Shrugged-Ayn Rand: socialism takes over the country, Industry fails, producers quit, country fails. Very relevant to modern times.

Shantaram-Gregory Roberts: Guy breaks out of prison in Australia, moves to India, does some crazy stuff and creates a new life.

Alas, Babylon-Pat Frank: 1960's post apocolyptic novel set in Florida.

The Zanzibar Chest-Aiden Hartley: 1980-1990's African Journalism writing, excellent book about a Reuters correspondent during all of teh continents horrors.

Deep survival-Lawrence Gonzalez: Explores survival psychology and physiology.

My list is long, but those are my favorites. chime in with yours.

I've just recently gotten back into reading, as I've been flying a lot lately and the books make time go by fast. I used to be a big John Grisham fan, and nothing has changed. Just read his most recent one and it was good. I'm a big fan of crime, financial, and law books.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, The best book I have ever read, its about a boy going into alaska to be with his dad on the pipeline when his pilot has a heart attack and he crash lands in a lake in the middle of nowhere. He uses nature and will to survive and he catches fish and hunts and survives until he is rescued and brought back home a changed kid/man. Very good book I highly reccomend it.

YOU MUST read Without Remorse, it explains how John clark became John Clark, Epic. I just wish they's make it into a movie. And if you like Clancy's stuff, check out Vince Flynn, he is wawesome too.

I lost some good buddies on Turbine 33, I wish You guys could read the after action on that whole op. Some other reads about SEALS in the 'Ghan are Roberst Ridge and Not a good day to die. I have my own opinions about them, but I'll keep them to myself. Anything by Dick Couch is also good for stuff on SEALS.

The Last American Man by Elizebeth Gilbert... not the greatest book but very interesting
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, won't watch the movie, I am sure it is good but that book is some powerful stuff
    RANT by Chuck Palahniuk
Fric Frac; The Great Riviera Bank Robbery by Albert Spaggiari.... not the most well written book in the world but a facinating story.
The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker... again, facinating (starting another one of his called "Just 2 Seconds"), geared more towards women but still very interesting.
    Anything by Arthur C. Clarke
    The Decent by Jeff Long
I am Legend by Richard Matheson (never seen ANY of the movie adaptions)

John Steinbeck - East of Eden, and Jack Kerouak - on the road. Depending on my mood I answer one of those two as my favorite book.

Although as far as favorite authors go, I have probably read everything by James Michener.

I'm currently attempting to read crime and punishment, but that is not an easy book to get through, my brain hurts after a half hour.
