His stuff is in serial, start with Term Limits...I only wish someone would do that for real....

John Steinbeck - East of Eden, and Jack Kerouak - on the road. Depending on my mood I answer one of those two as my favorite book.

Although as far as favorite authors go, I have probably read everything by James Michener.

I'm currently attempting to read crime and punishment, but that is not an easy book to get through, my brain hurts after a half hour.

^^^I know that pain, but its worth it. Have you read any Dostoyevski?

    *Edit*

I believe White Shark is now called Peter Benchley's Creature, but was White Shark when I read it. Benchley regrets giving sharks, specifically great whites, a bad name after writing Jaws and White Shark.

Tom Clancy novels are a favorite of mine.
I love anything history oriented, WWII is kinda my chosen time period though and I have read (i think) every Stephen E. Ambrose book on the topic, Band of Brothers, The Wild Blue, Citizen Soldiers, D-Day, etc.
Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt Novels are a fun, usually fictitious mixed with real history and geography read.
The original Bourne Trilogy by Robert Ludlum is also a favorite read of mine. Ludlum writes very well and I enjoy his style, all of his work is pretty good.

Forgot to add Louis L'Amour- great cowboy books, good short read.

I read Altus a long time ago in the 80'S. Great book, I discovered it after reading Anthem. I read Anthem (short story by Rand) because Rush based a song on the book.

An Altus movie is suppose to in the works... probaly mess it up like Battlefield Earth.

Another great book. Making this one into a movie scares me a bit too.

Over the years I have been reading just about everything from Raymond E Fiest.

    neglect, mostly.
i don't know about the zanzibar chest, but im reading a book right now about Africa called "king leopolds ghost". its a required reading for a college history class, and it's actually really interesting. it's about during the rapid spread of colonization in the late 1800's king leopold from belgium hoodwinked honestly the entire world into thinking he was down in the congo doing a great humanitarian effort to help the poor souls down there. once he got down there he started what would end up being the biggest slave trade and honestly genocide in human history. i think it was like 8 million africans killed during it all, and nobody really knows about it. really crazy. but it's not one of those "america came and took all the africans, bla bla stuff" it's factual and amazing.

other books the harry potter series (yeah im 20 yrs old and still love them (the movie's suck!!) , call me a nerd, but they are soo good!)

    and the hobbit.
