Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best gas. Out here in Illinois we dont get as many options as other states. However out here, I think that BP and Shell are the best.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    I voted other ~ "cheapest"

They are all pretty much the same. Companies add their own brand of detergents, that's all.

They're all the same. All gasoline is refined at a few refineries and traded around on the open market. Then all that gas is taken to tank farms and they add SOME additives, but those are in such minute quantities that it really doesn't matter.

I run Costco fuel since it is the cheaper fuel in my area. All of...if not most get their fuel from one source, then add brand products to the fuel. Costco may not be the best fuel to run, but I run fuel injector cleaner every 8-10 thousand miles. So it should be just fine.
I wish our Government would let us build more refineries, that might lower the price some. But I'm glad our fuel is not as expensive here, than in Europe. For at least now anyways.

Used to work in the oil industry. For CITGO to be precise. We'd always laugh because people would boycott the company for having ties to Venezuela but the product that comes out of the refineries goes on an open market, where it's traded as a commodity, and then can go absolutely anywhere on the market, so someone filling up at an Exxon could just as easily be using something that came from a CITGO refinery as any other refinery. Same goes for Exxon, Shell, etc.

The refined product trades all over the place and there is no real difference until it gets to tank farms and those little amounts of additive are put in.

Of course, octane ratings matter. But there is really no difference between any two brands that are the same octane. You want special gas, go down to the auto parts store and buy some additive concentrate and burn it with a tank of super.

Don't know if it means anything, but i don't see the 'Contains 10% ethanol' on the pumps at the local NOCO stations, and supposedly, it is 'North American' gas only.

Anyway, I most often go there.
