    The Danny Carey from Tool is truly amazing. I saw them on their 10,000 Days tour and during part of the show he and the opening act drummer were going back and forth each on their own drumset.

    The drummer for the opening act (no idea who they were) was the only stand-out in the band and he really was impressive, but the side-by-side comparison really brought to light the Carey's skills. That band turns out some incredible music.

    Neil Peart pretty much goes without saying, and John Bonham was way powerful and way ahead of his time.

    Hellz yeah...I played everyday from about 5th or 6th grade till I went to college. Had a Pearl Export series with an Tama Iron Cobra double pedal and some random cymbals that I collected over the years. Loved the SHIT outta that set....sold it when i went to college tho...No room to store it.

    I need to get back into it...played with a group of guys in High school...That shit was awesome.

    Right now I play in a shitty cover band, but it's better than not playing. I'm using a Premier kit w/ Zildjan cymbals and Pearl/DW hardware. The wifey got me a V-Drum kit a few years back. Use that to try and keep up my chops. Been slackin' lately.

    I was thinking about a Vdrum set...or maybe going for the killshot and getting a Roland set up. ..Nice and quiet...easy to pack up and still get the hands working.

    I might get back to it someday soon...if only i was $$$$$$$

    I've only seen him on here once, but Mike Portnoy definitly. He's the 2nd youngest drummer to get accepted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame, right behind Neil Peart. Also, he's been voted as Best Progressive Rock Drummer for 12 years running. :D On my list are also Neil Peart (of course), Dave Weckl, Joey Jordison, Carter Beauford (DMB), and the list goes on and on.... :D:D:D Been playin drums goin on 14 years now :cool:


    Edit: Goin to see a DMB concert this weekend BTW :D

    My wife and I went on 4/20 here in Birmingham. Their new CD didn't come out until June, so we hadn't had a chance to listen to it before we went. If you don't have the CD, pick it up today. It's GREAT, and you'll enjoy the concert a bit more.
