    NEIL PEART!!!!!!!!

Favorite metal drummers are Gene hoglan, Paul Bostaph and Mikkey Dee.

BTW, I can't understand why anyone would think Lars Ulrich is anything more than average. I personally know several drummers who are better than him.

Hmmmm....have your drummers been given a recording contract? Have they played thousands of venues all over the world to millions of people with countless amounts of hours on stage, not including the hours of practice it took and creativity to get there? Have they put out numbers of albums with bone crushing, trippy rhythms like "One" to basic tasty rhythms like "Enter Sandman"? Have ANY of them been honored in VH1 specials, Grammys, American Music awards, etc? Do YOU even know how to play?

None of that makes Lars a great drummer. At one time he was decent but there have been WAY better drummers (now he's just weak), some with record deals and some without. None of those awards shows and such mean anything. For one thing those are for the band itself, not Lars as a musician. Besides, those things are a popularity cotest and have very little to do with actual musical ability.

With that said, I have nothing against someone who says they like Lars' drumming style. I guess that's what this was about anyway, favorite drummer, not best drummer. Hell, I grew up on old Metallica, and I still listen to them. I've been listening to them since Ride the Lightning and I saw them, for the first time, opening for Ozzy on the Master of Puppets tour. I wish they had an inkling of the energy and songwriting chops that they had back then.

    Rock on!

The RNR HOF is a joke. ABBA and Run DMC are in it, but Rush and Kiss are not.
