Trying to trouble shoot a starting issue. Not sure if the old one is bad or not.

You can test them with a digital multi meter. If you do not have access to one I would call some part stores and see if they test them. I have had numerous sensors such as this tested before. Some offer this service for free.

Maf sensor usually won't keep an engine from starting. Keep looking

Does it start and then quickly stall?
Or just crank and not start?

I urge you to test, diagnose, and pinpoint the problem. Swap-a-part not only wastes time and money, but then starts to add other issues, making the real fix even more difficult.
Did you get a bad new unit? Did you get the right new unit? Did you install properly? Did you accidentally damage or unplug something during the install? etc etc

Disconnect the MAF and try to start.
