bad religion is great, seen em so many times. always a great show, just please never bring up Into the Unknown. Its scary to think they even relaesed that garbage.

I love the old 80s hardcore as well, Black flag, circle jerks, dead kennedys, minor threat, SSD, youth brigade etc.


otherwise, pennywise, bad religion, offspring, rancid (seeing em soon ) OFF, can go on but meh.

This thread reminds me of the good old days.

There are some bands you guys mentioned that I don't know or remember...but I've seen a lot of the bands mentioned in prior post.

I was very active seeing "punk" bands in the late 80's thru the 90's.
The reason I quote "punk" is because there are so many sub genres I hate to categorize them all as punk.

I had a great time seeing bands and meeting a lot of these guys. It sounds great but the truth is I would rather see them in videos over real life.

 

An acquaintance of mine is the singer for these guys. New album coming out in a few weeks.

X-ray spex were some OG stuff but damn if Poly’s voice doesn’t grate on you.

 

Early American hardcore(real hardcore) black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minor threat, ect. Got me started. Then I had a period where i got too involved with Finnish Hardcore, KAAOS, RIISTETYT, to name a few. I saw a lot of UK bands growing up. Subhumans, Exploited, Addicts, UK Subs. And I s saw Caustic Christ(crust) In a friends basement at there first show. Seen Misfits a bunch not a fan with Jerry he sucks and is a camera whore. I like Danzig era but my favorite is Micheal Graves FTW

 

How do you guys feel about Tim Armstrong?

 

Id give him credit for out come the wolves album, when i was a kid that stuff is what i thought was punk. I really enjoyed the bass licks and the songs were creative. Otherwise hes another Green Day wanna be in which throws the word punk around sloppy and is everything but.

 

The way these kids are nowadays upsets me, it was some much more and was quite differant then these crybabies today. And I dont remember standing for the things these kids do today. I did not live 80s but ate, slept, and breathed it. Maybe that's where I was wrong. Punk is dead, Hippies are on the rise, in which they call themselves stand for nothing just wanna live in mommies basement and smoke weed thats their movement. Im confused about people they really got dumbed down

 

I was a big fan of Operation Ivy and Rancid but the Transplants killed Tim Armstrong for me. That band was terrible. Lars Frederiksen is legit though.
