Big fan of Black Flag, The Refused, HWM, Jawbreaker, Minor Threat, Descendents, and the like. Lots of punk and hardcore back in high school. Nowadays I don’t listen to newer hardcore but I’ll certainly rehash some memories with old tunes on longer trips.

there’s some really solid newer hardcore though. i’m 43 been going to hardcore / punk shows since the late 80’s and there’s still stuff the floors me from time to time.

the first gallows album was one that reminded me the kids are alright.

I haven’t been to a show in many years. Recently moved to AZ. My best friend and show BFF from high school also lives here. He asked me to go to Converge with him a while back. Haven’t seen them play in 12(ish) years. I don’t think it’s the same anymore, for me. Friends bands used to crash with me in FL and SC. Loved them all to death. I supported them anytime they came to town but eventually we all kind of grew up. Still friends with a few, it’s been interesting to watch people progress or decline on social media. Some of the best people I’ve ever met were on hardcore forums. TW as well. Similar tight knit community feel.

I got rid of almost all of my band shirts and hoodies when I moved across the country in September. So much sentimental value. Oh well. :(

jake bannon never did it for me. i just couldn’t get into converge. my friends had the house in columbus where all the all ages shows were so we always just walked there. now i have to drive to shows and don’t go as much. mostly just reunion shit now.

saw jawbreaker last month, swervedriver, quicksand, i decided to not go to built to spill and afghan whigs as tickets were almost $80 each.

i’ve kept most of my clothes from those days however i don’t fit mediums anymore so it’s mostly just hoarding now.

i even have a patch collection with some old rare stuff like moss icon patch, old avail and integrity patches
