I probably won’t do much, if any, campground camping this year. When I won’t be out backpacking, I plan to find random spots up in the hills, mountains, fields or the coast and set up shop along side my truck. That said, where’s everyone’s favorite spots, preferably where the average Joe can’t get to in their pavement princess?

There’s some killer spots in the Mt. Hood NF past Ripplebrook that I like to go to (lots of random forest roads, some with great views). There’s some good spots around the Hoodoo/Big Lake area (around/between 126 and Big Lake). I was thinking of checking out some forest roads in the Gifford Pinchot this year, or the high desert around Bend/LaPine.

I’m just looking for some more ideas. Looking forward to this summer!
