Favorite Whiskey?

Mine is Woodford, I’m sad you don’t enjoy Knob Creek, it’s one of my favorites. But there are some that find KC to be too oaky.

 

The hype is unjustified, but let me suggest:

Approach it without the hype. If this was a readily available $25 bottle, how does it stack up in that context?

The hype is the fault of dipshit consumers, not the whiskey.

Personally, it's top 3 at the price range. WT101 and Old Tub are the other 2. And no, I refuse to rank them, so don't ask. I love all my children.

I would suggest any benchmark, old grand dad Evan Williams BIB and Rebel 100 proof as well

I just came out of my local ABC where two guys were arguing fairly seriously over the last Eagle Rare on the shelf and who saw it first.

The clerk was trying to calm the situation.

in louisiana it was the cheap bourbon for a while, then some reason it caught a lot of hype and shot up in price.

first time i tried it i paid $15 for the 5th

and honestly i had a few bottles because for $15 i thought it was the best damn whiskey out there. right next to the $10 bottle of Benchmark which i see has doubled to $20 now days

For me, or at least the one bottle of knob Creek I’ve had, it just had an off taste I didn’t like that sat and lingered . Now see, I like Woodford

 

That’s just the way tastes are, if everyone liked exactly the same thing that’d be pretty boring anyway

 

Sometimes, if you dream hard enough and long enough, and also make sure your wife hears your dreams, on or about your birthday, they can come true.

We’ve re-homed the bottle, what a snob I’ve become.

 

I have tried and tried to like this bottle, but it's going to the cocktail farm. Whatever barrel they picked for this one simply does not agree with my palate.

 

New bottle and new to me. Never had it before.

Good, but get the Jack Daniels SiB Barrel Proof if you can. It's in the same vein and better.
