I have a brother-in-law that loves EH Taylor. Last time I saw him, he had me bring him 4 bottles. It's pretty readily available around here.

@morri89 - suck it! Lol. Swung by Total Wine after golf to pick up a bottle of Monkey Shoulder and did my usual swing by the customer service desk to ask if they had any interesting bourbon or Scotch hidden under there.

Being a Sunday I really didn't expect anything. The lady says "uh, yeah, we got some, uh, T.B Taylor Rye..." as she's looking under the counter. I'm about to flip my lid and say do you mean E. H. Taylor? and she says Yes. I'm flyin high doing a little jig, but then she said no, the rye is sold. I'm crashing and ready to start popping antidepressants when she said "but we have E.H. Talor small batch, want one of those"? I break out into a full on happy dance but I'm about to pass out, because these ups and downs are just killing me!

Anywho, they would only sell me one (communists!) but I got it! I know they had a full case under there because she used a box knife to open it to get my bottle. Wouldn't let me have 2. I don't want to be That Guy, but I may swing by later this evening and grab another, if they still have it and she isn't there.

Enjoy! Hope it lives up to the hype for you haha. I haven't had the rye yet.

It’s been a busy weekend and I forgot to post this Friday night. I picked up a new bottle of one of my favorites to test out my new glassware. I’ve started a nice little collection of glassware but these are definitely my favorites so far!!

I have 1 or 2 I want to try before I get to that one, but I'm looking forward to it. How do you drink it? I usually add a few drops of water to my bourbon or Scotch. I looked on the Monkey Shoulder website and they are all about using it as a mixer. Does it stand up on it's own?

I use a whiskey ice ball mold that you can buy online ( Amazon or other ) and very in price but most are around the $10-12 range.
Some people like the full round ball but I like to only fill the mold 1/2 - 3/4 full. That way when you take a sip the ice ball doesn’t roll around in the glass possible causing a chipped tooth or fat lip.
    Enjoy.....

I have one of those and one that makes very large squares. I used the round one in a tall glass with some Pepsi. Wasn't paying enough attention and it Indiana Jonesed down the glass and got my nose. Along with a nice wave of soda.

I had to know. Had to look up the cost... A grand. Yikes. Also, saw a different version on Amazon. I figured the reviews would have something interesting in them, right? Yep. Guy dropped a thousand dollars on one and got shamed into giving it away. One more thing - in an ad for a thousand dollar round ice ball maker you'd think they'd use something more upscale than a 12 year old. It is pretty cool though.
