Off the top of my head, there's KC12 (which is excellent - no reason to exclude it), ECBP releases are almost always 12 y/o, Weller 12 obviously....

Very interesting, I didn’t know that a barrel proof single barrel existed.

Not sure if an option or recent change or both, this was a local county pick (our version of store pick here in State Controlled NC) and they knocked it out of the park.

I see High West in here a lot, it's sourced stuff right?

They do distill some of their own juice but I don’t think any of their bottles currently are 100% their own.

Started that way. Its the same story as every distillery started in the last 15 years:

They started out bottling sourced MGP that was excellent and well aged and have transitioned to their own distillate now which everyone agrees is not at the same level of quality. Many bottles are blends - read labels carefully.

The only thing they make that intrigues me is Campfire, which I have one of and need to try.

Only reason I ask is I had a bottle of Bourye what feels like ages ago and I wasn't a fan. My pallate wasn't what it is now back then though.

Found something at the liquor store that caught my eye. Such a purpley red color. Unsure how i feel about the taste but its growing on me. 20230117_123114.jpg 20230117_143858.jpg

Had the Campfire for the first time at a hotel bar not too long ago and wasn't that impressed. A little artificial tasting if you ask me, but I'm curious to find out what you think.. still dialing in my whiskey pallet.

Really wanted that Double Rye / Bourbon combo for the Whiskey Peak glasses - big fan of Huckberry, too. The glasses alone are $30, so another $39 for two bottles, even if they're just ok, seemed worth it to me.

Simple mods: tailgate lock, LED interior lighting, black badges, MESO red push-to-start, MESO key fob, interior bed lights.
Bulleit Rye (if you like Rye) is great for mixing - my go to for Manhattans made at home.

I tried Campfire on a work trip years ago, the bartender gave me the pour for free because he never remembered anyone asking for it and was curious what I thought…tastes like normal high west with a splash of scotch and some liquid smoke. Wasn’t a fan

I cracked open my High West Campfire and my first impression wasn’t the best. It left a mouth feel and taste similar to cough/sore throat spray. I’ll still finish the bottle but it isn’t something I would necessarily recommend. Bummer because I was pretty excited to try it and hoping it could be a campsite staple.

Was out in PA last night so I popped into two abc stores, passed on a barrel proof jd at the first store hoping the second would be better. Found this and thought of @jandrews. Slam dunk or nah?
