It's fantastic stuff, and way underrated. Super malty goodness in a glass! I'm gonna have to get a cask strength bottle soon and experience the full glory of Edradour.

That 1920 is goooooood stuff. For me, a little water to proof it down reveals all sorts of deliciousness.

Anyone try George Dickel rye? Saw a high rating for it and a low price so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I bought my 1st bottle of 1920 last night. It is stoooowwt. A few drops of water did calm it down a little but I think it has a better flavor straight. I'm on the fence on this one. It was a toss up between this and Jefferson's Ocean for a 1st try. I sorta wish I had went out to sea with the Ocean.

They have one done in barolo casks that is really yummy. That's the one that turned my head, still looking for more releases from them. I never see a big selection from them anywhere, just the Caledonia and maybe one other bottling. Wish I could find more, they have a ton of different bottles on their website.

So, wanted to share a couple things I recently tried. Didn't take pictures so I pulled these from the internet. Super cheap, super tasty.

    Mellow Corn
    Baine's

Mellow corn is (lucky guess) a high corn whiskey. Smooth, sweet, and tasty. Not super complex but for like $15 a bottle it's incredible. Their label hasn't changed on over 100yrs too. Very old school :).

Baine's is a South African whiskey for about $40 which tastes like an American blend. It's smooth and oakey. Very yummy. If you see them, definitely give them a shot.

Heck yeah! Please destroy the bottle when you go to throw it away, don't want counterfeiters getting hold of it.

Mellow Corn is damn good, always have it stocked at home. 100 proof. My local Total Wine sells it for $10

Got to taste some real treats tonight at a local spot here in San Diego! All for $45!

Whistlepig Boss Hog Spirit of Mauve
Whistlepig special blend by Dave Pickerell just for the bar (apparently he had repport with some of the bartenders)
    Bruichladdich Black Arts 1992
    Octomore 8.1
    Laphroaig Cardeas Fino Cask finish
Chivas Regal aged in Mizunara casks (super sweet and smooth) apparently it's a rare bottling, but I thought it was just ok. Rare doesn't require good anyway.
    Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Heavily Peated

Of all of them, I have to say the black arts was the most approachable and delicious. Laphroaig Cardeas would probably be my next fav (I'm a scotch guy). The boss hog had stuff going on, but I couldn't pick out what. I'm not a big bourbon guy so I don't think I was really able to appreciate it for what it was.

All for $45!? Damn, That's a hell of a deal. If I remember right the last time I saw Octomore at a bar (7.3) it was $35 alone.

That Black Art really is something special. One of my favorites hands down.

    Very good point:hattip:
I don’t recall anyone mentioning ever receiving a fake bottle in this thread. Has it happened to anyone? I have friends that collect verrrry high end whiskeys, way out of my financial league, and sometimes all they can do is hope and pray it’s legit.

Personally I don’t collect, I’d rather enjoy them. But I understand the worry, so I’ll never let that happen. Usually turn the bottle into decoration. Probably cut the top off this 15yr and mold a candle into it:sawzall:
