Rebel store picks are generally a great value. Luxco, basically the same as Ezra Brooks variants. Good stuff.

I heard there may be a new king among the twist offs. I had to check it out for myself. The EW was $17.99 and the Full Proof was $24.99. Quite a big difference in proof. So doing a “blind” was kind of pointless. It was my first time with the Benchmark and I’m impressed. The EW is familiar and delicious. I’m torn, both are great budget bourbons. Cheers.

If you have a Stagg Jr, do a blind taste test between that and the Benchmark. Same distillate, Benchmark is 4+ years and proofed down a bit, whereas the Stagg is aged 8+ and bottled at barrel strength.

So Benchmark FP is Stagg the 3rd.

Interesting, I don’t have one currently but will definitely do a blind when I do. Im lucky and seem to have great access to the Benchmark line up. Any thoughts on the the single barrel?

Have only tried the FP. The SB reviews are generally decent but nothing too exciting from what I’ve read, other than being a good budget buy.

Anyone given this a go yet? Nose is cherry and vanilla, pretty sweet overall, pleasant. Taste and finish are lots of tobacco and and leather, maybe a little bit of dark fruit - much different than the nose. Interested to see how it opens up. I like it, but I think there’s better options in the $40 and below category

Did you find the JD 10 year in PA? I've been looking and it just coming soon. That and the 12 year.

I’ve tried it and like it, but the Rickhouse Reserve is better in my opinion, and just about the same price. The flavor profile seems to stand out even more so, and the BiB is does that well as you state. But If you can get the Rickhouse, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed if you like the BiB.

They just started dropping in PA this week. Pittsburgh area got it first then I think as far east as Harrisburg received. Next week should see some in our area :fingerscrossed:

The 12 is definitely one of my unicorns so I'll be running around quite a bit next week :D

I'll have to give it a try - their Bourbon, Rickhouse, and BiB are abundant here

Yeah I popped into my local store that gets Friday deliveries but no luck. They did have a ton of the Woodford masters collection sitting there though.

Guess I have to wait for Monday. Headed to DE and MD this weekend to see some friends so I'm sure I'll do some browsing.
