mostly barrel picks in my collection. Haven’t bought/drank Blantons in years. Except the SFTB a few months ago. Overhyped indeed

That particular bottle took well over a year to finish. It was almost exclusively consumed by guests who’d never had it and were highly excited to try it. Wife and I gave it the coup de grace.

It really isn’t bad at all and from time to time you find a high quality barrel. I’ve had worse bourbons that I paid more for.

I torched another ring gear today 250 miles into a 3000 mile road trip, so I'm drinking tonight. Much like the future of my rear axle housing, this ECBP A120 doesn't stand a chance at survival.

It used to be bougie to drink Blanton’s. Now it’s bougie to talk shit about Blanton’s.

It’s not the greatest thing on my shelf but it’s pretty far from my worst bottle.

Blanton's is absolutely worth retail price.

It is absolutely not worth triple.

I will die on both hills.

This bourbon has a special place in my heart. 6 years ago or so my old boss brought me a bottle of this as an attaboy for work done and as an introduction to whiskey outside of a black label Jack with bar ice and a Coca Cola mixer.

It’s a damn good bottle. I’d like it better if it were about $30 less but it’s the reason I got into bourbon fandom so I don’t mind the $75 price tag to keep one on hand.

It retails at 80 here, which is slightly under the "new standard" of $10/yr on age stated bourbons.

That said, there are exceptions. Let us hope they don't try to charge 90/bottle for Knob Creek 9 any time soon, or 150/bottle for IW Harper 15.

Ultimately, I liked Widow 10 enough to shell out for Widow 13 and 15 when I came upon them. The 13 was arguably a deal at 100/bottle. The 15 was exorbitant - 250/bottle as msrp here in NC. It will either be a one time purchase or something I buy whenever I can find it. We shall see.

    It’s $88 + tax = $100+ out the door.

    Not much stock left.
I certainly am enjoyed it, but it’s not easy to find around my parts, so I got really excited when I found it.

I don’t recall what I paid for it. I have a tendency to buy three or four bottles of various flavors. I want to say it was around $65.

    Those look exquisite.

I'm trying to figure out why Irish whiskies that aren't Redbreast or Spot exist.

Everything I've had in the category, those two are in their own definitive echelon and everything else is a notch or two below.
